  1. If you applied at the Bedford VA I belive they heard around early April.
  2. I am a currently a student at Smith, I sent you a PM.
  3. Not sure, but I know being a full time student excludes you from MassHealth. I would contact the school to find out for sure what is acceptable and what is not.
  4. Now I might be a bit biased because I am a student at Smith, but I think that it is a great school. It has a good reputation in the Boston area. For example, my first year field placement had students from a few schools but they were all second years. The only first year interns my field placement wanted were Smith students. There is also the pain of moving back and forth for three summers and two field placements to consider and the price is also astronomical. Ultimately, if you are interested in clinical social work, particularly with a psychodynamic focus, there is no other school that I would recommend
  5. Did any one apply to this program? Does anyone know anything about it? I'm interested in learning more about it.
  6. Hi, I will be attending Smith next year. I was notified that I received a $5,000 merit scholarship with my acceptance but I have not received any additional financial aid. I just finished my FAFSA and Smith's financial aid application last week so hopefully I will find out if I get any need based aid soon. I saw your post on the Smith thread, sorry you are having such a hard time making a decision between U. Denver and Smith! Smith was the only school I applied to, I was really drawn to the clinical focus, extended field placements and emphasis on veteran's mental health needs.
  7. I called the admissions office and they said that they will send out the letters on Monday!
  8. Sergent Major, I too, was very interested in the USC program, it clearly seems to be the best for military social work. I would not recommend beginning the online MSW while you are still on active duty. There will be field placements that you must complete that are 16-24 hours a week. How you can fit that in while being active duty? Many field placements don't have night or weekend hours. I would talk to the admissions counselors at USC, they will be able to give you the best information. For example, I wanted to start the online program while I was deployed and they told me that it would be possible to participate but that you MUST be available to do a video classroom during certain times. The time might be in the middle night where I am because of the time difference, I know the online MSW from USC has a part time to full time option where you take a few classes and then you ramp up with the field work. This would be possible to do in the last 6-9 months of your career because once you are retired you can jump into the field placement and finish the degree. Once again, I urge you to call USC to get the details and figure out what is logistically possible due to your current career. -2LT
