    Bethlehem, PA

I love the Bethlehem Area! There really is so much to do and activities going on. I did my undergraduate at Moravian which is right across the bridge from lehigh and go back at least once a month ( I live ~1.5hrs away near Philly ) Were you looking for a place so you could walk everywhere or is a car an option for you? South side has a lot of fun bars/ restaurants etc on their mainstreet but can get a bit rough right around the lehigh campus. So I would try to go out an physically check places out to see how u feel about the location. If you don't mind driving I would look right across the bridge at bethlehems mainstreet. Its a historic area full of alfresco dining, cute shops and boutiques and just a nice Area to wAlk around. The poster above mentioned the fests that are held here (,octoberfest, Celtic fest, musikfest, christmas etc) I still go back every year they're just so much fun and definitely a great time. I think you'll really enjoy living there since youre really close to every kind of setting ( hiking, ski/snowboard, nightlife , malls etc) if you have any questions just message me I'd be glad to help! P.s be sure to check out Becky's drive in! They have an old fashion drive in that's shows a double feature for only $6 bucks on the weekend!
  5. Has anyone heard of accepted students day for loyola ? Do they have that for the 3 year program students?
  6. Finally sent my deposit in... I will officially be attending loyola md in the fall!
  7. Fulbright all the way! That's Is an incredible opportunity and the poster above is right ... Thats something that will jump off your resume. I would send the institution a letter or contact director and ask if they would make an exception for u if not send them a letter in writing that that is your top school how hard of a decision this is for u and that you will reapply and hopefully be apart of their program in the future.. Again wow I'm so jealous and good luck with everything!
  8. Hey! Congrats to you too! I'll be going for the three year ... Yea Im going to go it's a 2 1/2-3 hr hike for me since I'm in pa but I wanna head out and start scoping at the area for places... It's so surreal I can't believe Ill be moving soon... Also do u understand what happens with funding/ loans and when well hear back?
  9. Was accepted to loyola! Anyone else going here?
  10. Ok so I just had an interview and it was my first one so Im not sure what to do... They said we should hear by the end of the week do you all normally email them thanking them for taking the time or anything or do I just wait this out?
  11. Is there anyone who Has an interview for loyola Maryland (foundations program)? I spoke to someone who was in the program before and they said it was a quick, casual interview but now apparently they are having you submit a writing prompt and the interview is with a committee... This is my first interview and I'm starting to get terrified ESP bc this is my top choice. Any advice of what I should expect on a writing prompt or what I should do to practice?? Thank you I appreciate any help!
  12. Hey all I was wondering have any of you applied and/ or know anything about Appalachian state and western Carolina's program... I have applied to both but was unable to visit their programs. On paper they seem like nice programs and I've spoken to some of the faculty at each but I know just because they seem ok doesn't necessarily mean anything ... I learned this the hard way after visiting another progrm Which I hated after my visit ...thanks for any help and good luck on another week of notifications !
  13. Hello all! I was just notified that I have an Interview at loyola university!... Does anyone have any pointers or advice if they've had an interview before and super nervous since this is my top choice! Thanks
  14. Ok this may seem like a dumb question but was I supposed to fill out the fafsa a while back I thought it was once u were accepted... Did I just ruin everything?!?
  15. Hey all, I have a couple questions. I always feel like I'm so out of the loop with application etiquette in slp. Like many of you all of my apps are in since jan/ feb 15 and now I am playing the waiting game. Most of the schools I have applied to are 5-10+ hrs away from my home so I was unable to make visits to most programs. Do you feel it's too late now to even try to set up visits to check out facilities etc i am getting a break off work so that's why I ask since I now have the time. Also, have you all been contacting programs and asking about decisions etc I haven't heard anything and was unsure if I should give them time or speak to them. Thank you and goodluck!
  16. Hey NEWYORKER90 we have pretty much the same stats except ur gpa murders mine lol I didnt do well the beginning years of college but my last two were deans list so im hoping they realize the gradual trend. I also went back to drexel grad for autism n got a 3.9 gpa for those beginning 3 classes but im not sure its enough..im absolutely freaking out over this process.
  17. I think you are doing a great job bringing yourself to the next level this application period so congrats! This is my first time applying and I am terrified that I will be rejected also :/ Can I ask what your gpa was for when u applied the first time around and where did you apply?
  18. Thanks so much I really appreciate it your "two cents"! The GRE is not my strong suit I am taking the new one but I have been studying like crazy so hopefully it rubs off on my score. I should be alright with letters of rec...I just cant wait for this process to be over already lol I just want to get in and start classes! Which grad programs are you looking at?
  19. okay...I recently graduated from undergrad with a degree in Psychology and a minor in biology. My overall is low (3.19) bc I messed up freshman year but my major GPA is higher at a 3.5. The last two years of college I managed straight A's and multiple internships (private SLP practice, horse therapy for children w/ disabilities, and two elementary schools with their SLP) I knew this wouldn't be enough so I applied to grad school @ drexel and recieved A's in the three classes thus far. MY QUESTION IS.....Is this enough?? Should I continue to take more classes and get A's in GRAD school bc they are considered "more difficult" OR should I take some of the Pre-requisites online to show the schools that I can handle the SLP material? All of the schools im applying to do not require the Pre-req to be completed. Any information would be a life saver! Thank you!
  20. That does seem rough....I'm just applying now for next fall and i'm absolutely terrrified! Do you mind offering up your stats (gpa, gre, etc)?
