Last year they called a couple then emailed the rest a couple days later -- trying not to get too worked up. Yesterday, I was complaining none of the schools I applied to showed up while today 75% of them are out and its quiet. Right now, I'm basically hoping for a waitlist....anyone...anywhere????
Have a good weekend all -- stay calm!
re: the Yale article, good news is that compared to last year (at least according to rejection letters), overall applications to all phd programs are down from about 10,500 to about 9,500 this year. Just playing the numbers, it is slightly more promising!!!!
Anyone else still waiting for ALL applications? None of the places I've applied have been mentioned in the survey.
I dont know -- seems like the verbal is "fine" since its still about 90th percentile, right? General Consensus is that Q should be 700+ but again its just getting past the initial hurdle.
Just a thought -- this thread was started in August 13 2011. Fall 2011 admission thread was started December 13. That might be the difference. Seems pretty busy regardless!
I would assume that Q-GRE is important itself but if you have an 800Q with no math background on a transcript that might not be looked on as favorably as someone with say a 700 but As in Calc 1-3, etc
