  1. I'm in South Asian religion and I've always heard it has a good reputation for that and also Religion and Environment. I'm not sure about its reputation in other fields, but the impression that I've gotten is that its a good program. Hope that sort of helps
  2. I recently was accepted to BU's program but I'm not sure if I'm attending yet. Is anyone planning on going? What would your focus be? My interests are in Hinduism and Indian nationalism.
  3. HDS decisions are up!!! Mine was positive, I hope everybody else's was too!
  4. Does anyone else focus on Asian religion (Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Shinto, Sikhism, Jainism, etc.)? I focus on Hinduism, particularly as it intersects in late Indian nationalism. I'm just curious to see where everyone else in Asian religion is headed! I'm thinking that I'm probably going to go to Syracuse for my MA but I also got acceptances at UCSB, CU Boulder, YDS, and UWashington's Comparative Religion MA at Jackson School (and I'm waiting to hear back from a few). UW is my second place option, and I'm having sort of a hard time deciding between there and Syracuse which is why I'm interested to see what others are thinking! Most of the other threads on here seem to be mostly Western religion focused, so I thought I'd make a thread for us since the schools with good Asian religion programs are often different from the ones that are popularly talked about on here.
  5. Has anyone else applied/heard back from BU's MA/PhD?
  6. Hello everyone! I got into the MA program at Jackson School of International Studies at UW a few days ago and I was just wondering if anyone else on here got in and what their thoughts were about the program, what your interests are, and so on. I applied for the Comparative Religion program and I'm planning on focusing on Hinduism and South Asia in general. It wasn't top of my list at first but now that I'm looking into it a little more thoroughly it seems like a really wonderful program with a lot of really interesting faculty. I was just curious what other people heard/thought about it and I'd love to hear from other people who are maybe thinking of going to JSIS for their MA.
