  1. I found this list on the ETS website which has all the paper-based test centers in the U.S. (Note that each location only gives the test up to three times per year). http://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/gre_pbt_center_lists.pdf
  2. I spoke to ETS over the phone and they said the diagnostic tool won't be working until two weeks after you receive your scores in the mail.
  3. At my testing center, if you ran out of paper they let you trade in one of your used sheets for a new sheet. (And the paper was yellow.)
  4. Quite honestly I think the Prometric testing centers are stricter than the TSA when it comes to security. They took my fingerprints and my mugshot in addition to the metal detector.
  5. I'm not sure, there is more information about this free service here (though it does lie, because you can't use it just yet): https://grediagnostic.ets.org/GREDWeb/gred/signIn.jsp
  6. I don't think so. But starting two weeks after you receive your scores in the mail you'll be able to see how many questions you got wrong and the difficulty of those questions.
  7. Sorry, I looked at your percentile instead of your score. I find it kind of frustrating that one percentile is spread out between several scores.
  8. Actually, your verbal corresponds up to a 730. And it might not hurt to consider having them re-score your AW section if you think you did better.
  9. It might not hurt to have them re-score your AW section if you think you did better than 3.5.
  10. I received 154+154 and two of my schools told me this correlates to 1200 on the old scale.
  11. First off, the cut off depends entirely on the program. In my field (Env. science), the cutoff is either 1000 or 1100 on the old scale. So there is no hard and fast rule with cutoffs, just check your specific program. I was told by two different schools that they expect 300 to be the new 1000. You should keep in mind that it's likely that schools will use the same percentile cutoff, despite the fact that scoring is different.
  12. Yep! This will be good information to have. From what ETS told me this is completely new to the revised test and if you took the old version you won't be able to access this information.
  13. Most of the estimates are right even though they're on the lowest end of the project score. (Both of my scores were on the lowest end).
  14. Your verbal would be 162-169 and your math would be 154-164. You can find the concordance table here http://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/concordance_information.pdf
  15. My score wasn't awful, and while it's tempting to have them re-grade it, I'd be worried I'd get a lower score. Not to mention that your scores are put on hold until it's graded. *BTW, anyone who is trying to use the free GRE diagnostic service to get more information about how many questions they answered right, I just called ETS and you won't be able to access this service until two weeks after you receive your revised GRE scores. I am looking forward to seeing how many questions I got right and I hope other people share this information since it could help out a lot of other people.
  16. How do you go about requesting a review of your AW score? Is there more information about taking this step on the ETS site by any chance?
  17. That's New Jersey for you! Okay, kidding. But I too have spoken with ETS on the phone about the GRE and they really aren't that knowledgable and give incredibly vague answers.
  18. I received my official score report in the mail today. Unfortunately it's the same exact information they give online.
  19. You really should contact the schools. It's not uncommon to find contradicting information or a lack of information on graduate schools' websites. For one school I was applying to they had contradicting information on the same page! And if you don't want to send out emails, I highly suggest calling them. Something like school/dept. codes is usually something their general graduate school office will know.
  20. Thank you. I guess I was just confused because the wording seemed very vague, but I appreciate the clarity offered by your input!
  21. It sounds like you might benefit from looking into Environmental Education masters programs as well.
  22. I know you've got your heart set on Michigan, but you might want to broaden your view and look into PhD programs, especially in Canada, that don't require the GRE. I think this thread may help a little
  23. I haven't heard of "human dimensions" before, but I have stumbled across programs that sound similar to what you're talking about, especially since I'm looking into MS Environmental Science programs myself. But the program that immediately stuck out to me as what you're referring to is called Environmental Humanities at University of Illinois- Springfield (http://www.uis.edu/environmentalstudies/curriculum/masterArts.html). You can also find the class list for that degree here (https://edocs.uis.edu/druez2/www/GradWeb/2011-12_MSMA_AdvisingSheets.pdf) I hope that helps!
  24. One of the schools I'm applying to wants me to talk about "my plans for professional development." This is the first time I've seen this prompt and was wondering if someone could help me out with what exactly they want me to talk about.
