Hi,
I'm researching which library and information school I'd like to go to, and one of the options I'm investigating is maybe going to a school in the UK (I'm American, by the way, if that's important). I realize that American library schools and UK library schools have different accreditation associations (ALA vs cilip), so I have a few questions about the benefits or disadvantages of studying in the UK.
- How do American employers view applicants that come from a non-ALA accredited school?
- Are there any major differences in UK librarianship practices that would make it difficult for me to get a job in the US or elsewhere in the world?
- Has anyone gone to a UK library school and could you say something about your education experience?
Thanks in advance.
