  1. If I were you, I would go. Since you live outside of the US and they invited you, it means they're very interested in meeting you. Trust me, if it's in your possibilities, try to go.
  2. Not everyone gets a visitation day letter... usually, they send it to people from the States who they're interested in meeting...it's like an unofficial interview and this could enhace or hurt your admission's and funding's chances.... however, if someone does not get this letter or does not assist, well... it doesn't mean that this person won't be accepted. COngratz on receiving this letter! It's the first step... we will all hear from GT on late March!
  3. For the UCB's SEMM applicants... I just talked to Shelley and she tells me that they 're sending their first decisions on february; however, she says that most of them come out in march and others on april (unlikely).
  4. I received response from VT, just because I was already admitted there and I deffered.
  5. Me neither....don't worry! It is too soon to receive an acceptance, unless u did ur undergrad studies there...
  6. Any other Structural Engineering Candidate out there? Please share with us!
  7. That's great! I met with him last October and he told me he is very interested in my profile. So, hopefully we both end up working together!
  8. Congratz man! Wanna share your stats and maybe the other schools you applied to? I will add u on my FB
  9. Hopefully! I want to go to UCB! It is my top 1... but we{ll see what happens in the meanwhile...
  10. I am not supposed to need any of them. However, they would be more than welcomed. I am interested in working on Earthquake Engineering with Dr. Eatherthon or Dr. Charney if I finally decide to enroll VT.
  11. Well I applied for Spring to UIUC. GaTech, Virginia Tech and even Austin Texas, but had to defer because was granted with the Fulbright Scholarship. I haven't heard back from any univ rather than VT. I received the VT letter on December 27th, 2011 and I guess it was that fast because I was laready admitted for the previous term. On the other hand, GaTech usually give sthe decision by the end of March and UIUC anytime since the very beginning of March and March 25th (*approx.). Good luck Man!

  13. We all know this waiting process is though, so let's support each other in it. We don't have to face it alone! Any structural applicant out there?? Whee did u apply? Have u heard back from them? What are your stats?
  14. If your highest university degree is in English , you don't have to.
  15. I knew you wrere gonna find it! And yes, the page is a bit confusing! I know where it is because was between Specializing in that field or structural. And it was in my top choices!
  16. JAjajajaja! no t preocupes! So this is the link to their Construction program: http://www.ce.gatech.edu/research/const It is widely known across the country and it is not hard to get in with your profile. Hmmmm.... on the other hand, NO ME ESTAS MOLESTANDO!!!! It is a pleasure to me! 17. George, Soy de República Dominicana y también he estado solo en el proceso. Pues ha sido bien difícil por la misma situación tuya. Pero en fin, me esta yendo mejor. I am applying for a Masters in Structural Engineering with a similar profile as yours: International student, with great GPA, class rank, etc. I just received an acceptance from UIUC, so if u want more information just add me on skype guishediaz or email me to diazfanas@gmail.com Good Luck and I ll be waiting for your response if you need any help!
  18. I would say it is ok to have a few safety schools. However, let me suggest you Gatech. Their program is very very good in your field and having urs stats, I am 95% sure they are accepting uoy. It is top 3 ranked in CEE Masters program. SO try it! Good Luck
  19. Hey! I consider you have a competitive profile, but it would advice you to keep real on your expectations. These universities have a great amount of rejection, no matter how strong is your profile. However, if you are just looking for admission you could have a good chance! Good Luck!
  20. Virginia Tech --- Accepted (NO WORDS ON FUNDING YET)

  22. Anyone applying Structural for spring 2012? What schools? Any decision yet? If you can put your stats and decision you have received. I believe this is the only way I can handle waiting for the Admissions Commitee getting back at me!
