  1. This is the best sounding board, I think... No one else knows what the hey I'm talking about when I throw around all these abbreviations (MA? MTS? MDIV? "Don't you just want to be a pastor? Why don't you just go to Bible school?"). No one here may "care", but at least we all know what everyone is talking about!
  2. Hahaha, when I went to put my results into the results survey, I spelled Notre Dame "Notre Dmae". Suddenly it all becomes clear why I wasn't accepted! Thanks, jdmhotness and MsSarahBOOM - it's just such a huge relief to be done waiting! Only one more wait - Yale's financial aid stuff next week - and then I finally get to make a decision! And then I get to go to graduate school! So EXCITING! But it looks like (pending Yale's financial aid) that I'll be at Boston College in the fall! Does anyone else know / have strong inclinations about where they'll be?
  3. Whelp! Bad news as well from Notre Dame. I knew, in my heart of hearts, that they wouldn't see me as a "right fit" for their program. :-( Not totally heartbroken - Boston College is giving me a 15,000 to come and play with them and Tim Wakefield in Boston... I know that I have a lot of excellent schools to choose from, and I know that Notre Dame's program is super duper hard to get into (187 applicants!), and I know that's it's more about a "good fit" than being a good person or a good student or any of those things... But ah! How I had my whole soul set on Notre Dame! :-( It's chocolate time! :-)
  4. Yeah. Let's get this over with, either way. I'm becoming surprisingly attached to Boston College, the longer I wait to hear from Notre Dame... Le sigh. I do wonder if this waiting means that we still have a chance, or are just doomed from the end of Friday, March 2nd.
  5. OK. Not to be paranoid. But that does seem to be the flavor of the month... Notre Dame called some MTS people and accepted them last Friday. I have not heard. But I'm confused - wouldn't they send out mass rejects first? Why wait to reject people til after they extend invites? Should I lose hope? If I shouldn't, why not? Oy VEY!!! Just tell me already! Let's get this show on the road!
  6. Thanks, LateAntique! I'm trying to stay optimistic. Anything's possible.
  7. eh, I hadn't thought about that. I'm not Catholic and just got admitted to the MDiv at BC. I did see that a lot of the pastoral requirements are liturgical/Church related, but I assumed that since they accepted non-Catholics that Christians of other denominations would have other ways of getting those pastorally things (for instance, classes in the BTI). But you haven't met any M.Divs that aren't Catholic? That puts a damper on my Boston College joy.
  8. well, since 2006 Notre Dame has sent out results on either the first or second Friday in March. It could be just a habit - but it seems to me that it'll probably be the same this year. But I am definitely not a ND expert by any stretch of the imagination.
  9. I did NOT hear from Notre Dame, although I spent most of the afternoon refreshing my e-mail. Guess it'll come out next Friday? Maybe the tornadoes made them all close down their offices early and we'll hear on Monday... (Maybe I'll dream on)
  10. Accepted to BC plus stipend! Excited!
  11. Got a message last night on my phone from BC saying that they'd love to talk to me... will call later to find out why... I hope that they really like telling people that they are accepted, and don't "love" talking to people to tell them to get lost... :-)
  12. Yeah, that's what I meant - I'm super nervous about hearing the results, but man will I be happy to finally know - either way. I'll sleep better at night, that's for sure. I've just had my heart set on Notre Dame for so long, and I've know it's a long shot for so long, that I'm about ready to stop this "hopeless hoping" and at least have a chance to move on to consider my other options, if that's what it comes down to. Early Gilmore Girls marathons seem to help, though... as well as Milky Way Minis.
  13. This is a frightening thought. Either way, I'm glad to see the finish line.
  14. Congrats, RyanD! Woohoo! :-)
  15. Whiskey Priest- Any idea how soon before the March 15 deadline YDS calls folks on the stipend scholarships?
