  1. I'm not an expert by any means and am not applying for statistics, but you're chances look good for the schools you've applied to, as far as I can tell.
  2. They told me to upload the fourth transcript as an additional document/writing sample. Fortunately I only attended four schools since there is only room to upload one additional document. Apparently this problem is a result of changing clients this year.
  3. Where are you applying?
  4. Why? To the OP: just write something. Let it sit for a day or two then edit it and let somebody else read it.
  5. Don't want to know. Don't see how it would change anything.
  6. Yeah, I sent them all of my transcripts, although they provide conflicting reports whether they actually want you to send transcripts before receiving admission... Anyway, I'll wait until Tuesday and report back then in case anybody else here has the same problem.
  7. Somebody here must have applied to Cornell after studying at more than 3 previous institutions...
  8. I did the same thing and reported similar schools that were, on average, slightly stronger than the school I was applying to.
  9. On the Cornell application, they request you give them info about ALL schools previously attended. Then they give you the opportunity to report a maximum of 3 schools previously attended. What gives?
  10. When I first read the incorrect sentence, I did not notice any problems. After you pointed out the error, I realize I had mentally omitted the word "as" without realizing it. Seems like a minor error to me. One of the programs I'm applying to was inconsistent in capitalizing its name as an acronym on the website/emails, so I'm sure I did it wrong too.
  11. I can think of at least one highly ranked school that doesn't want to see GRE scores at all. Of course, it varies from school to school, though.
  12. Neither am I, but I can't think of a reason not to submit it.
  13. It seems that you have already answered this question yourself.
  14. I guess I was just concerned that since I transferred from a community college and changed majors at the same time, everything listed in my profile was done in the last 16 months and I wasn't sure if I had "enough" to get into a top (?) school.
  15. 150 views and nobody has any input? Any advice at all?
  16. Gotta be on campus every day during the week. I'm still an undergrad, though.
  17. Do I have any shot at top 10 schools? Top 20?
  18. Hi, I'm looking for a profile evaluation for applied math phd programs. I need to figure out where I want to apply to pretty soon. Undergrad: big state school, solid reputation in math Major: mathematics GPA: 3.9 GRE: 590/800/4.5 (expect an 80th percentile on math GRE) Type of student: domestic, male Relevant courses and grades: Calc II (A) Honors Calc III (A) Honors Fundamental Math ( B ) Biostatistics (A+) Math Stats and Probability I (A+) Discrete Math (A) Combinatorics (A) Numerical Methods (A+) Applied Linear Algebra (A+) Real Analysis (A+) Applied Complex Variables (A) Currently taking: Numerical Analysis (expected A/A+) Differential Equations (expected A/A+) Math Stats and Probability II (expected A/A+) Spring term: Algorithms Numerical Methods for PDE's Abstract Albegra Game theory (econ department) Research experience: A summer research project investigating a new iterative method for solving large linear systems. An honors project on optimizing the lottery for state revenue. Also a project on pseudo random number generators that may result in a publication. I should have good letters from at least 2 professors, and maybe a good third letter. What type of schools do I have a shot at?
