  1. Anyone heard from Texas A&M?
  2. So much activity on the results page and yet the philosophy forum is dead. How is everyone?
  3. I applied to 11 programs and I haven't heard a thing!!!!
  4. Tell us the names of the schools
  5. Not necessarily. Their website says that they will make offers around the first week of March. One should also take into consideration that Magog is at the very top of their short-list--it makes sense that he heard from the department; I imagine that some individuals, who made it on the short-list, haven't received phone calls.
  6. A result from DePaul has been posted.
  7. Same here. I just finished Hesse's Beneath the Wheel and Magister Ludi. The two books were quite similar and equally depressing.
  8. Every GRE test you have taken for the past five years will be reported to the schools you decide to send your results to. This means that even if you should score V=169, Q=169, AW=6.0 on your second test, the schools would receive these scores along with your previous scores. How the schools choose to interpret your GRE scores, however, is not something anyone can answer.
  9. I guess I was so busy these past few months that I failed to notice Brian Leiter’s updated graduate program rankings. It doesn’t look like much has changed though. http://www.philosophicalgourmet.com/overall.asp
  10. It's a horrible program! One that is, in fact, entirely committed to analytical philosophy. Oh, and the faculty is rather lack-luster. JK. Actually, from what I have heard, LSU is supposed to be one of the finest intuitions to obtain an MA in philosophy from a “continentally-committed” faculty. (But don’t tell too many people—I still want a chance of getting in!) The only thing I'm not sure about is placement. However, the last day to apply for funding is February 15. http://www.artsci.lsu.edu/phil/philo/philo_fac.htm http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools/louisiana-state-university-and-agricultural-and-mechanical-college-college-of-arts-and-sciences-department-of-philosophy-and-religious-studies-admissions-000_10030653_10088.aspx
  11. ...And there go all the Northwestern spots. Although I haven't received an "official" rejection I'm sure it will come eventually.
  12. It looks like University of Oregon is starting to submit offers
  13. Here you go: Colorad State: 43 applicants, 40% accepted, 5 enrolled (http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools/colorado-state-university-college-of-liberal-arts-department-of-philosophy-admissions-000_10041157_10088.aspx) Western Michigan: 23 applicants, 96% accepted, 10 enrolled (http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools/western-michigan-university-college-of-arts-and-sciences-department-of-philosophy-admissions-000_10017086_10088.aspx) Bowling Green: 59 applicants, 29% accepted, 5 enrolled (http://www.petersons.com/graduate-schools/bowling-green-state-university-college-of-arts-and-sciences-department-of-philosophy-admissions-000_10047182_10088.aspx) Hope this helps. Good luck!!!
  14. Same here. I applied to UO but haven't heard anything. Maybe someone with too much time and an ax to grind is posting fraudulent results?
  15. Congrats on those GRE scores!
  16. A result from Texas A&M has been posted??? I'm starting to wonder if someone just made up results survey information just to frustrate people?
  17. Oh, well I didn't know that you also had a stipend. If the stipend is around 10-15k you should be fine with the $4500. And, you might even have enough to bring a car!!!!!!!!
  18. Yes, but why assume that the adcoms are thinking such negative things about one's application?
  19. 4500 won't go far. You won't find a place for under $800 a month. Also, to park a car in Hyde isn't cheap; so, if you don't need it you might consider going "car-less"
  20. Results already? Good grief! It makes waiting until March that much harder
