  1. I got the denial email, but my status is still unchanged. The email explicitly stated that it was for social psych only, though, and that any other programs will notify me separately, if I applied to any other programs. Thus, IF you applied to the social psych program, congratulations: It appears you made it past the first cut, at least!
  2. I, too, am still sitting in that mine field, wishing I would just frickin' step on one, already. I thought my application would be quite competitive, especially with my hugely relevant work experience w/ famous professors, and the fact that I'd emailed all my POIs and received at leeaaast encouraging responses from all, if not very positive. My supervisor, a post-doc in affective neuroscience, said that she didn't hear back (with good news) from some schools until around valentines day, though, so I think (hope?) we still have a chance, even if we didn't make the first wave, of interview invites.
  3. I, fortunately, have a full time research staff position right now, and thought I should give a heads' up for potential volunteers: At our school, at least, we certainly appreciate volunteers, but getting them "plugged in" to the system (i.e. IRB/HIPAA certification, etc) if they were not previously affiliated with the university can literally take a couple months, so inquire early!
  4. I don't know about their past tendencies, but their site says to expect a call regarding interviews sometime 4-8 weeks after the application due date. As it was due on December 15th, I'm still holding out until next Thursday before I give up hope. Also, has anybody heard from Oregon? Their site says calls will go out before the end of January, but considering the release of their applications was so messy, I wouldn't be surprised if interview calls have been delayed as well...
  5. I had a decently pleasant email exchange with Dr Cushman in ~October, but haven't heard anything from him or the adcom since applying...
  6. I feel your pain... I've received nothing but silence from my (mostly) Cog Psych programs as well...
  7. It seems like you should be careful in doing this, though, as it could be interpreted as you showing one school has lower priority than the other. That's a complete conjecture, but seems worth consideration!
  8. Fantastic question! I wish people would post their field of interest more often! From what I've heard, though, clinical is earlier. That's why I wasn't sweating it until eventually checking on things here. Now, of course, I'm extremely nervous... Thanks everybody ! Still waiting to hear back from all of my programs :-/ Not looking very good, but I guess the silence is slightly better than rejection...
  9. It's my understanding that not the same people will be reading every essay, so you should really "hit them over the head" with your main points!
