Congrats Jujubea!!! Must be great to finally know where you're going! Any insight into how you made your decision? I declined an offer today. Narrowing down the options! But I won't know until I visit my remaining schools... still some weeks to go.

Anyone have any tips/thoughts on visitation day attire?

Thanks, everyone!! Hope everyone's app season and decision-making process is going well! I have no idea how people make these decisions. I spoke with one of my LOR profs yesterday, and apparently back in the day he was so indecisive that he actually accepted a school's offer and then declined it a day or two later, haha.

WHOA just got into the wild card discipline change program to work with a really well-known POI. Buuuut their visit day is the same as UPenn :/ No idea what to do -- according to the admissions letter, they won't fund a visit on another day.

Whoa. Just got an email to "chat over the phone" from a POI of a program that would be a huge discipline shift. This was my wild card application, not sure what to make of this development!

I don't totally get this one, but the confusing language makes it even better: After I have applied to this out of prescience, I found out that it was a better match than others. However, I am sequentially dominated by competitors who possessed better qualifications, and the stable strategy was to be rejected (though in a mixed mood).

Thanks!! UPenn was the only place that was a real contender with Cornell for me, so this decision just got really hard. Hope the waiting process ends quickly for everyone!

Some insight into UPenn... it seems they've divided the pile into outright rejects and applications worth further consideration, and might be meeting end of this week (so maybe today) to deliberate...

I don't think it suggests that they didn't like your writing sample. I'd say they're probably trying to choose between you and someone else or making a waitlist decision. They may also be interested in seeing your writing on a different topic. Regardless, if the sample you submitted was bad, I doubt they'd ask for another one.

I really can't wait for April 15th so things stop being so up in the air. I want to know where I'm moving!

So Cornell sent around an email to admitted applicants about the recruitment weekend, and it seems like 10 people were admitted in total.

Yup! This is what I got. Sorry! This form is no longer available for you to register. Historically, it seems like they notify by mid Feb, so this might be an indication that something is moving behind the scenes.

Yep!! I'm guessing either today if we're lucky, or sometime next week... And it seems like they send all their acceptances and rejections out at the same time, which is nice.
