  1. So guys, one can say this is a great dilemma, but I have really been losing sleep over it WWS ($$$$) seems to be the obvious choice, but HKS has been my dream school for a while. Besides, I am an international student, and Harvard seems to have more credit than Princeton out of the US. At the same time, the MPA at WWS appears to be much more rigorous than the HKS MPP, and could allow me to work in development institutions like the World bank which is my ultimate goal. I know the subject has been more or less discussed in previous years, but I would like to get more up to date opinions. Anyone in this situation? Any thoughts about this? Any experience to share? Many thanks!
  2. How will we hear about the financial aid? Are we going to receive e-mails too or only snail mails? Cant wait!
  3. OMG!!!! I am in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. intldevelopmentguy: why does e-mail means rejection?how do they notified admitted students?
  5. Do you know if these scholarship contests are open to international applicants?
  6. I also applied to the MPP program. Checking my mail box and this forum a hundred of times
  7. Yes, I saw 105K, but I refused to believe For the essay, I think that as long as it was a letter to an editor it should be fine.
  8. Mid-february would be really great! As of my friends, some of them did got the scholarship. They went back to work in public adminitration and then applied for IMF/WB positions after 4-5 years.
  9. As of the funding, PEPM students from developing countries have a little advantage because PEPM has a special partnership with the World Bank/Japan Scholarship program. In my case (and probably yours), it could be difficult to get it since I saw on the World bank website that applicants should not be residing for more than one year in an industrialized country. But since I have not seen this condition on SIPA's website, I hope that they are more flexible with PEPM applicants. http://web.worldbank.org/WBSITE/EXTERNAL/WBI/EXTWBISFP/EXTJJWBGSP/0,,contentMDK:20287115~menuPK:562877~pagePK:64168445~piPK:64168309~theSitePK:551644,00.html
  10. Your background should not be an issue especially if you can demonstrate that your research was oriented toward interesting economic/development issues. I think a most important issue for you to address is why you want another master degree, especially since you might have already studied most of the topics covered in the PEPM curriculum in your Ms Econ and MA ID. Your GPA is excellent! Did you already take the GRE?
  11. Hi sg1984! I already applied to PEPM for fall 2012. I have a public administration/international institution experience but for less than three years. This is what makes me the most anxious because applicants seems to have more than 4 years of experience in average. What about you?
