  1. Hello - I have my interview on Feb 20!
  2. Good luck Columbia folks! I applied on jan 3rd and got accepted yesterday. i only had a 3.3 GPA, but pretty good experience (i've been in americorps the past 2 years) and a strong essay. essay & experience will matter more than your gpa! i dont know if i can afford the tuition or nyc. probably not. i also applied to UW (i live in seattle), BU & Hunter. I have not heard from anywhere else yet!
  3. i got into columbia today as well! now let's see if i can afford it
  4. I believe Columbia's acceptance rate is around 50% which is actually very high for an ivy league school. I think it is because so many people have to turn down their acceptance due to the absurdly high tuition costs, and the costs of living in nyc. i applied to columbia, hunter, boston university and uw and have not heard back from anywhere yet. i'm starting to get really anxious! it's so daunting and hard to gauge what schools might be interested. here are my stats. 3.3 GPA from University of Maryland (major polisci) Currently completing my second year AmeriCorps term with Habitat for Humanity Have much experience in DC think tanks/government agencies from college, as well as nonprofit orgs good luck everyone!
  5. Hi All, I'm aiming to send in all my applications by the end of this month. I'm so conflicted on what I want to do next year, and what chances I have of getting into certain schools. I'm applying to U of Washington, Boston U, Columbia and Hunter College. Stats: GPA from Univ of Maryland: 3.3 (political science major) Experience: 2 years of AmeriCorps w/ Habitat for Humanity Internships in college with think tanks - including Center for American Progress Volunteered at an orphanage in the Dominican Republic I am hoping to pursue a macro path. I'd love to hear what everyone else is doing, when they hear back, chances of getting in, etc. etc. Thanks for your input Steph
