  1. Does anyone have an idea of how soon you need to start looking for housing? I contacted one agency that told me to check back 3-4 weeks before I want to move out. I like having things planned out in advanced so I'm trying to avoid waiting that that long, + University housing cost are more than I'm willing to swallow, what are you all thinking of doing?
  2. I'll be attending the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning program, pretty excited
  3. I went to the UIUC open house, so if you have any questions about the program feel free to message me!
  4. Probably neither :-/. They're both great programs, but funding is pretty important to me and I don't expect to get much from either. I'm also in at a few other programs that I think are good fits for my career goals.
  5. Received the official Cornell admit e-mail today, also in at UCLA
  6. The cyburbia link is http://www.cyburbia.org/forums/showthread.php?45079-Graduate-PhD-2012-2013-applications-and-acceptance-notices-United-States/page8 , it's a great forum to check out especially since it's dedicated to planners. I'm not sure how many people get wait-listed, I think gradcafe and cyburbia are skewed towards super qualified applicants where you'll tend to see a higher proportion of people on the wait listed than are in reality.
  7. I received a similar e-mail but it didn't say anything about being wait-listed, or any admission status for that matter. Based on the cyburbia forum there seems to be at least 2 versions of the e-mail. I'm guessing some official notification will come out soon.
  8. I'll be attending as well! I'll also be in town early, arriving on the 8th.
  9. I know Cornell sent out a general e-mail 2 weeks ago with Open House details. If you're referring to that, then I wouldn't read too much from it. I don't think we'll have to wait much longer for decision though, so best of luck.
  10. The past few days seems like they've been pretty busy in terms of admissions decisions, congrats to those who received recent admits. Anyone 100% set on a school yet? I know it's super early but I'm just curious.
  11. Sorry to hear that. You'll probably still have to mail in the sample so prepare to mail them tomorrow. Browsing this forum and from my own experiences I've found departments to be pretty understanding, so just give them a call tomorrow explaining your circumstances and see if they'll accept the uploaded version or if you can e-mail it. Best of luck though!
  12. Most of my schools said they'll get back to me around March, so I wouldn't worry too much. I know it's nerve-wracking waiting, it seems that as a field planning results come out on the later end of things.
  13. I've heard from UIUC but am still waiting for most of my schools to get back to me. I'm excited to see another planner though, thanks for starting this thread!
