I heard from Notre Dame today; I got an invite to 'Visit Day'

I kind of doubt that was the case. It is possible they got an earlier e-mail because they were extraordinarily qualified and/or a POI e-mailed them directly. Note: an even earlier case happened with someone at Univ. of Chicago. They got their acceptance at the very beginning of the year - also abnormal.

Congratulations! Oh, what I would give to get accepted to UPENN. That's a great program and a cool place to live.

^ With that said, and after just now looking myself, I would say we could hedge a bet on a rejection if we don't hear by mid-February.

Don't stress it. Look at last years results and see the span of when acceptances were sent.

Mine varied between 1 1/2 - 2 pages depending on how much I wrote for my last paragraph (the why I want to attend your university paragraph). I wish I had an opportunity to go back and re-do some of my statements and write about 2 or 3 different professors for each. I mainly, for most programs, just listed one specific person and then mentioned how my interests were well represented in the program blabalbla. I didn't expect adcomm's to only associate you with you who mentioned and if that person was full be like "nope sorry".
