I applied for UBC housing (studio/1bdr) in Thunderbird and Marine Dr last week for a move in on August 1st. I guess I am probably on some massive waiting list. Does anybody know if I have a realistic chance of being accepted?
I live in Europe and have no chance of visiting before school starts so I don't really like the thought of blindly renting some random basement. :/
MS apps outside of the US / PhD apps within the US
Admitted: KTH (Stockholm)
Waiting on: UBC, UCSD, UCSB
Rejected: Stanford, MIT, UW
Complete silent treatment from the schools I'm currently waiting on. Frustrating.
I know this is a long shot but does anybody have knowledge of how Danish universities compare with each other in terms of the quality of their master's programmes (kandidatsuddannelse).
My fields of interest are mostly Machine Learning and Data Mining.
Judging only from their website I am inclined towards Aarhus University (AU), but in a perfect world the University of Copenhagen (KU) would have a program of equal quality since I would rather live in that city. They just don't seem to be doing any sexy research in my fields of interest.
Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you are CS majors from Denmark. Kom nu mine danske venner. Hjælp en af jeres islændske brödre.
