I got into Penn with a similar GPA and little relevant experience. I think what made me attractive to Penn was my academic record and the way that I talked about how past experiences, even though they weren't relevant, led me to social work and taught me skills that will be useful in my chosen profession.
Haaaa... weird. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what the acceptance packet looks like. Yes, Penn was my first choice; their academic program is very attractive and I want to be in Philadelphia.
Hmm, it only let me see the acceptance letter. The admissions dean was the one who called and informed me of my acceptance, but the dean of SP2 called and told me about the scholarship so maybe it's not considered financial aid?
Is Penn one of your top choices?
How did you find your scholarship information? When they called and admitted me they told me I had been awarded a scholarship, but that I would find the information in my acceptance packet, which I am still waiting for... Is there any way to find this information out online?
I'm in the same boat as you. I applied mid-December and called about a month later to confirm that they received all of my materials; they said my application was complete. I still haven't heard anything and am also worrying.
xxxxling, how long did i take between when you submitted your application to penn and when they notified you of acceptance? i also applied there and am curious about the waiting period... thanks!
