It seems like all of the apprehension and hoopla has suddenly faded, and now there is an uncanny sense of calm. I have no idea what happens after this. My graduate director has said that I shall be able to enroll in classes sometime in June. What is going on with the rest of you? How does it work from now till the day we start classes in August? Everything just seems too unobtrusive!!

Hey Crunchy Socks, I also got an acceptance from Georgia State. They did not inform me, but I checked the website, and the acceptance was posted there. There was no other info. Hope this helps.

Just got that too. Was expecting it, as their Welcome day is in the first week of March. Oh well.

I guess it is a good thing that I have an acceptance from my top choice. I would still like to know though.

Poeteer, The DGS told me that the commitee were still deciding on other candidates, but he decided to call me anyway, as they were sure about mine. I got in for the English Ph.D. program, but I saw on the results board that there was someone who got into the Creative writing program as well. You might be hearing this week, it seems.

I just got an email from the DGS saying that they have in no way finalized the final acceptances yet; in fact, they had a meeting today. Good luck.

That was me. Got a call (voicemail, as I was teaching at the time) from the DGS, who said that the paperwork and official acceptance will follow via snail mail, but he wanted to just call and let me know. I am so relieved! Good luck, Katy. It seems as though there have only been 2 acceptances so far, and the first one was because of a university wide fellowship. Best!

The one rejection was me. I got an email this morning from the DGS directing me to the website where the decision letter was waiting for me. If you guys have not heard anything, it might be good news, as Greensboro generally sends acceptances by postal mail. Good luck to both of you!

I got my second rejection today, and three of my other schools have started notifying acceptances (I have yet to hear something from them ). I wake up every morning hoping today might be the day… All day I look at everyone else getting their good news, celebrating, knowing that their dreams are turning to reality. I do not even have words to elucidate what I am going through. I am so pleased for all of you who got to hear some positive news; I, on the other hand, am not sure if I will get a single acceptance…if I will get to feel the same joy as a lot of the others. I do not want too many…just one . Well, another day is almost over. I will start this same thing tomorrow morning. Good luck to everyone else in my shoes!
