Germaine123, I don't know much about the cohort size either. I looked at the past 2 years' results survery and couldn't gather much either. Seemed as though there were not may Gradcafe-ers who applied there ? Their deadline was so early; I am guessing we should be hearing something soon.

I guess I will have to file my taxes this week, and then fill out the FAFSA!

It seems like this is the best place to ask this question: Have you guys filled out your FAFSA for the schools that you have applied to? Some of my schools' online status says FAFSA not received. I was not sure if we needed to fill out the FAFSA for Ph.D. apps as well.

Has anyone received their rejection for Buffalo's English Ph.D. yet?

Does anyone want to claim the Stony Brook acceptance mentioned on the results survey today? Congratulations!!

I am starting to get more and more pessimistic about Buffalo....I had emailed Dr. Hammill to see if he could tell me anything about when we will be hearing about the decisions (i just could not wait), and he emailed back this morning. According to him, the administrative assistant is already sending out letters and is also in the process of updating the website...He said they will be making almost all of the decisions by the end of next week. ... if my decision is coming by a letter, I know what that means..... I was kind of hoping that if I email he might let me know that I am rejected and end my misery.....

Congratulations Homeric_voice. I still have not received anything....looking at last year's results forum, it seems as though rejections only come by postal mail :-(.

Someone just posted an acceptance from Buffalo for PhD in English on the Results Survey.....Can't stop checking my email since then.....keeping my fingers crossed.... Anyone want to claim that first acceptance....I promise I won't be jealous ....

I just saw that someone was accepted into the Stony Brook English PhD program? Does anyone want to claim that? This is one of my schools....and it is making me just cringe with fear of another rejection. Congratulations to the lucky one!!!

That is a t-shirt I should find... !!! I thought I had a good chance with KU, espcially because I thought it was a great fit with what I want to do....This rejection has made me so nervous about the whole process ....Hopefully, something positive will come soon.....Good luck to all!

Well, here I am...the winner. Gosh it feels so bad. I got my first rejection today! University of Kansas--did not even email me. I happened to check my online app and found my rejection letter posted there. This is wayyy too early...I had to read it a few times to grasp the reality of it. It is a sad day .
