I have confirmation that my letters/application were submitted (although i did not receive confirmation via email), but where are you seeing whether or not they have received specific things like transcript/portfolio etc?

I just received an e-mail for an interview at SMFA

sorry, did we decide that if someone else here has received an e-mail about going for an interview, but I haven't, that it's a no? It seems like those e-mails would all go out the same day.

so... if I didn't get an email about an interview at MassArt's 2D program should I assume that's a rejection? Do schools ever notify students on different days?

i think there is an advantage to to be there in person, just because you can be personable etc and get a feel for the facilities and the "feel" of the school, but they certainly won't knock you for having something like distance/cost cause you to choose the skype option. Of course this is my first year applying to graduate programs so I can't speak from personal experience, but my mom is on a board for a masters program at Stanford, and she has done several skype interviews for the exact same reasons you stated.

i don't know how accurate this is but a user in another thread (who isn't applying to MFA programs) said his friend already got an acceptance from NYU's MFA (steinhardt). Has anyone heard anything from them?

I submitted the online application, but i'm confused about what financial aid form you're talking about?

I was told we only needed to complete the FAFSA by Feb 1 for Steinhardt, and that there wasn't an additional financial aid application. Are you talking about a specific scholarship or something?

Nothing in my inbox from MassArt yet either...
