I've called Lance twice and emailed him once and I haven't heard a thing from him. Maybe I am on that list??? I really hate this waiting game.

CONGRATS Inspired10! Im so happy for you guys but now I am super anxious about my application. I called and emailed Lance and have not received a single response I wondering if UCLA accepts students based on their concentration? Hmmmmm Either way, CONGRATS to those getting accepted! Doesn't it feel great when you get that letter or email?

I think this sounds like a good sign. At least to me it does. Sending you positive vibes!! I totally get your anxiety. I found out a few other people got accepted already which caused me tremendous stress. To the point where i couldnt sleep last night. lol While I was happy for them, I couldn't help but wonder, whats going on with my application. Are my GRE scores too low? Were my personal/professional statements bad? AHhhhhh The stress needs to be over soon!!! I emailed and called Lance today. I hope he calls me back soon and gives me an update Good luck to everyone else!!

Deciding whether to email or call Lance has been on my mind. Should I? What should I say or write? lol Checking my email has become my daily nightmare. lol I hope this will be over soon. Whether good or bad. But one of my friends who is currently in the program got accepted April 10th. So there is still time. Right? I hope so Good luck to those waiting like me!

Thanks for help! But sadly, I'm already stressed. UGH! I got an email that I should get a response by March 30th, so I'm counting down the weeks. Do you know if the Mental Health specialization is the most competitive in the practice method? Any info that you have would be helpful. Thanks!

If UCLA accepted me I would seriously consider the school. I also had no idea that I had to do a prompt for the fellowship. Sadly, out of pure stress, i didnt complete the prompt and just submitted my application. I was so stressed out that I just wanted to get this application out of my hands and submit it ASAP. Oh well...as long as i get in, thats all that matters at this point. I submited my application Dec 6th. I got an email that my application was received. I also got and email that my GRE (UGH!) and my transcripts were received and that I should receive a response no later than March 30th. YIKES! I am beyond nervous. I hate this feeling.

I got accepted into CSULA as well. Congrats! CSULA has about 17 CalSWEC stipends, and they only accept 25 students into the Children, Youth, Women and families concentration. You have a good shot of getting it. Good luck!

Yeah I was checking every topic too and I rarely saw any UCLA applicants. I was even reading the old ones. I hope that means not many people applied and there is a better chance that we get in. lol. Yeah the CSU's who have more applicants already made decisions. At least for me. But im waiting for UCLA now, and its stressing me out so much. I submitted my application Dec 6th. I think two weeks sounds around right. At least I sure hope so. I have to make a decision on some of the other schools but I need to know if i got accepted/denied at UCLA so I could further explore each school before any final decisions. UGH! When did you turn in your application?

Hello everyone, I wanted to start a forum for the MSW program at UCLA, I haven't seen many people mention it. I know a few of you have applied. I don't know if anyone has been accepted, rejected or wait-listed (maybe its too early), but the waiting game for UCLA is killing me! Although I got accepted at two other MSW programs, I'm just being a big baby and want a response from them already. I have a really awesome GPA, and amazing professional experience, volunteer work, and leadership experience but my GRE scores are horrible! I was told at the diversity fair that I attended last year (from professors on the committee, and current students) that GRE scores really didn't matter unless everything else was great. IS THIS EVEN TRUE?!!! Is anyone else in the same boat as me? I'm also using this forum to vent, since I don't have many friends applying for grad schools at this moment. I'm suppose to get a response before March 30th. Anyone else get that email?

By the way, the stipend I was talking about is the 2 yr calswec. 18,500 each year. CSU cost approx 15,000 (if not a few more) for the 2 yrs, so if you add it all up, you got your entire grad school application paid for.

I got my acceptance package from CSULA as well. Now all I need is UCLA. Hope I hear something from them soon. And i hope its a yes too! Congrats!

I wish you lots of luck! I think experience is more important than anything. Ive been working for a few years now, so i have got tons of exp. I also believe that you have not received a confirmation email because you applied so close to the deadline. They get tons of apps. They are probably still sorting them out. I got an email on Monday 2/13 with their decision. I just need to be cleared by enrollment services. Which I should be fine. I got accepted into the 2 year children youth and families and told them that I was only interested in the mental health stipend. I will apply for that stipend by the end of my first year. (I think that's how it works) I have a 3.87 GPA in Social Work 3.48 Overall Current Exp: Provide individual rehab and case management services for SED children and TAY, and their families. Case Manager for pregnant and parenting teens for a school district. Co-facilitate a parenting group (I work with the children 10-16yrs old) Volunteer as a Crisis Counselor/Advocate for a crisis line for rape and domestic violence survivors. Previous Exp: Case Manager for pregnant and parenting teens program. Adolescent Family Life Program and Cal-LEARN. Worked at a shelter for children involved in prostitution and pornography. (12-18yrs old) My main work there was working on their national crisis hotline. Rescues from pimps, suicide and drug overdose. I worked at the children's court working with foster youth. I worked at the Law firm that handle the cases of foster youth in LA county and assisted the investigators in updating their reports to the attorneys. Other Volunteer exp: Leadership in SW. Coordinated Lobby days for 75 BSW/MSW students. Co-facilitated meetings. Set up guest speakers in the field of SW. Mentored foster youth. AIDS WALK I mailed my application Dec 8, got an email Dec 15 that it was complete. But i was told they they would look at my application after winter break. What about you?

I have heard some awesome feedback about the program at SDSU. I have a friend completing this year. She did the one year advance standing program. I wanted to apply there (because I took the GRE) but I didnt seriously see myself considering SD if I got accepted. I couldn't afford living there. Even though it's expensive to live in LA too. Lol But good luck to you and hope that you get accepted soon. keep us posted.
