  1. Speaking from last years’ experience, Nic School was definitely on a rolling basis. I submitted my Duke application around mid-Dec (just before Yale's deadline since I did all applications together). And I heard from Duke two days before their deadline (which was late Jan I recall) with my decision. For me, applying early gave me a lot of certainty later on, but as to how much this had increased my odds - I really don't know. All the best!
  2. Aha after all that wait for U Mich's dual degree programme, I finally got an offer for their Masters in "Environmental Engineering". Not sure if I made a mistake in my application or Ruckham simply thought "Environmental Management" + " Chemical Engineering" = "Environmental Engineering". Umm......
  3. Thanks a lot MGrubs! And congrats MGrubs and jhuffine on your acceptance to Bren
  4. Thanks a lot WanderingUrchin. Seems like it is expected that on Day 1 that you come in with a clear idea of what you want to do. That's not so much of an issue as I am definitely interested in EE. My problem is that I also find certain aspects of the Global Environmental Change concentration interesting, and would love to be able to get the best out of both worlds. As a result I may not finish the set requirement of either EE or GEC. So in a way, I will be mixing EE and GEC and creating my own "concentration" (as kamnamurt pointed out). Is anyone able to comment a bit more on the possibility of doing this? Much appreciated!
  5. Thanks curlie-sue and biggytre for the information. Did you guys have the chance to gauge the approximate p.a. cost of attending the Nic School (all up) from the current students? Also would love any info you might have on "double specialising". Many thanks!
  6. Only $10k for one year from FES, no way! Guess Nic School now comes back into the picture for me. Also I presume everyone else has heard back from SNRE one way or the other? Guess I got the so called "silent rejection"
  7. Not a word yet sorry, I think they are aiming to have the info out by early this week. I also remember reading that Yale's aid packages may also be country specific for international students (more for students from demographically under-represented areas). But I can't remember where exactly I read this from.
  8. In terms of reputation, I personally think FES and Nicholas are more a less on par in the field. So the biggest contributing factor to my preference in MEM @ FES is the fit of their programme. I am particularly interested in Industrial Env. Management and the Sustainable Urban and Industrial Systems focus ticked most of the boxes on my list of aims. There is also a strong emphasis on Industrial Ecology at FES due to the presence of the Center of Industrial Ecology as well as the considerable number of faculty members associated to it. So there is likely to be a sophisticated network of knowledge already in place in this particular track I am hoping to go down. Also as MCRM pointed out, Yale does appear to be more generous to international students. The one year package I received from Duke is simply too humble in light of the colossal costs of grad school.
  9. In as well, congrats to others who got in Anyone still waiting on SNRE here? Still no words from them. So currently a tossup between FES and Nicholas. FES seems to have a strong enough focus on the industrial side, but Nicholas has an amazing alum network. Guess will have to wait for the financial figures to make the final call.
  10. Thanks MCRM for all this info! By the sounds of it the decision-making process probably is already done and dusted (220/578), they are just waiting for the right time to release what we have been desperately hoping for for months.
  11. That's my guess too, this Friday looks like a possible candidate
  12. Congrats! Maybe it's due to the fact that you applied for dual degree there?
  13. Just got into Bren on 2nd of March. No financial info till April though - sigh
