  1. Is it just me, or is it nuts that Columbia still hasn't send out a big batch of admits/rejects? I've already accepted an offer elsewhere, so it doesn't so much matter to me, but I do think it's sort of strange, and I am curious... Good luck to everyone!
  2. Woops sorry, it says "phone call" on the results board...I'm at work at read the POI part from the line below. But still, the phone calls I've gotten have all come a good week or two before any official letter. Even if they're from an administrator.
  3. I'm glad that the Yale admit specified that it was a call from a POI---it's a holiday weekend, and it's still early, so I'm sure that more acceptances will be sent out at a later time (maybe at the end of this week?). Fingers crossed!
  4. @artofdescribing, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's obsessed! It would just really throw the timeline off, seeing as it doesn't seem like anyone has heard about interviews yet. I met with my POI in the spring, so a part of me is hoping that he'll just count that and everything will be wonderful. A girl can dream...? All of your conclusions are reasonable. I guess we'll just have to sit tight and wait until we get our answer. Avocados are DEFINITELY one of my comfort go-tos. Every night I come home and half an avocado with salt and a glass of wine. I will be continuing this ritual even after I hear back.
  5. Lucky! It's slow enough in my office that I've just been semi-glued to the results page. Totally unproductive. The best part is, I work at an auction house and our next auction is in mid-March, right when I'll finally have answers and will be absolutely swamped. I wish I had that distraction now!. I'm definitely going camping this weekend (thank you, California winter), although I may have to leave my iPhone at home. Good luck! PS: 11 schools? Nice job. Applying to 5 drove me nuts, so I'm impressed!
  6. I was cracking up, too! Also having a heart attack, because oh man Yale results, but mainly laughing. It's pretty cruel that every PhD program in the world seems to be giving out results, but not art history. I need to cut myself off from the internet this weekend (not gonna happen). Maybe we should all go camping.
  7. In the past, NYU has interviewed candidates, although I'm not sure if they interview everyone or what the process is. I'd love more info, if anyone has it! I'm curious about anyone's thoughts on Yale interviews. The articles in the daily mail make it look like they'll be interviewing in all humanities depts, but maybe that won't happen...? Good luck, guys! I was also warned about not going on the forums, but a little camaraderie is actually really helping me cope with the next few weeks!
  8. er, as in, I wish the interview was scheduled for this weekend. On that note, I'd really just like to fast-forward to mid March.
  9. I think we're attending the same event, or at least a similar one. I'm trying to remind myself that these interviews are really two-way, and that we should be learning as much about the program as they will about us as candidates. As for dress, I think it's important to wear something nice but comfortable--there will probably be a lot of walking. Good luck, I know how anxious you must be feeling! I just want it to be this weekend, the wait is killing me.
  10. OnceAndFutureGrad, you're right, I see that in Hicks' signature. I've found this thread to be really helpful, and I'm sure that we'll start hearing more and more in the upcoming weeks. Good luck!
  11. Where did you see this? I'm new to the forums and still learning how to navigate! I check the art history admissions page and this thread often, but that's it!
