    Looking for a PhD in computer hardware/architecture with some digital logic design (not just pure software). Which school would be the best?

    Me! Just curious, is it typical to be in contact with one or more POI before the visit? No POI has contacted me and I'm wondering whether I should seek out profs now via email or wait until visit day.
