  1. Not selected ETA Turkey. Thank goodness I choose a job over the Fulbright. Well, it was a great learning experience and I am truly happy for those who were chosen.
  2. Congrats to everyone who heard good news from the Caribbean and I'm truly sorry to all those who were rejected or designated as alternates. And then there was Turkey (cricket, cricket)
  3. Agree with the person who said that if they had known it took so long for Turkey to process our application they would have applied to a different ETA program. This thought has crossed my mind a thousand times!!
  4. Thanks oa0176! Maybe I am look for consolation more than advice. I really wanted to go Turkey and I also was looking forward being part of the Fulbright community. In any case, I think I did make the right choice since I have also been working towards a job with the Park Service for many years.
  5. Hi everyone: I just accepted a job offer with the National Park Service today. It literally was one of the hardest choices of my life. Since I have put so much time and effort into the application and into this forum I feel almost like I am giving up. I wish there was a way to able do both, but I know that's not possible. So, I decided to choose a paying job over the Fulbright. I hope I made the right decision. If anyone has some words of advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
  6. The Full Grants from Turkey were notified about two weeks ago.
  7. This is exactly what I do! God, glad I am not alone. The sad thing is that I know I probably won't get notified for a few more weeks and that checking constantly is getting me nowhere.
  8. I would be more than willing. I am a ETA finalist for Turkey.
  9. Just bought a travel guide book to Turkey. Hope I'm not getting ahead of myself.....
  10. Oh! Your research sounds right up my alley. I am in graduate school for Heritage Management and Museum Science. If I get the ETA, I hope to have time to study the development of historic preservation in the country. What is the concentration of your PhD?
  11. Congrats!!! I hope the ETA's will hear soon. What will you be researching in Turkey?
  12. This makes me wonder why it takes 5-6 months for the Turkish Fulbright Commission to make their decisions. I think an effective solution would be for the whole Commission to take shots of Turkish coffee and then get everything done in one sitting.
  13. Congrats! Are you doing the ETA or the Full Grant?
  14. I am an ETA finalist for Turkey. Please let me know if you find anything else out. Thanks!
  15. 1) I am a grad student applying for an ETA to Turkey so, yes, we do exist AND 2)** Puts finger on nose** Not it!
