Blavatnick School of Government is a new baby of Oxford. One-year MPP, World-class faculty. I asked V-C what is the competitive advantage of the MPP, the answer is INTERNATIONAL FOCUS. It is the first year to recruit students (about 30 students) and the result will be uncovered soon. The advantages are obvious: 1 one-year: less financial and opportunity cost 2 smaller class, more attention from tutors 3 interdisciplinary faculty 4 Oxford, the city of dreaming spires, always holds me back. The city is so gorgeous and the people there are nice ** If you are admitted, you will be recorded in the history of Oxford: ) ** Generally speaking, Oxford education is more illumination-oriented. It is an ideal place for Great Thinkers. The words I always heard there are "Dig deeper" " Reflection" etc. I am not sure if it works for MPP, a practice-oriented program. Hope it helps! Good luck!

Clay Made, I would suggest you write emails to ETS ( so you do not need to wait till ETS working hours.) Normally, it takes 2-3 business days for ETS to reply. I tried it. Another advantage is that writing in email is one kind of proof! I called ETS to deal with my score sending issues but they did it wrong. I had no evidence to prove they made a mistake since it was calling. Also, you may ask ETS if your school is one of schools accept electronic scores. This way, it makes the process quicker. Several of my American friends are working in US Department of State (I am a Chinese). They were rostered and got the jobs within ONE year. Foreign languages (in particular critical languages) count a lot! Rosters will be asked to rate your preference of duty stations. Then, they match you to one destination, maybe not your first choice, but still in your choice pool. Finally, GO^.^ GOOD LUCK!

In terms of HKS MPP, is it ture " more self-funding secured, more chance to get the admission" ? I mean, the relevance of self-funding to the MPP admission. Or admission and financial aid are totally separate? I am filling in the HKS financial aid application form, just wondering in the savings section " the more the better (to be considered for the admission) " or " the more the less (chance to get financial aid) "? any thoughts?
