  1. Well, I got my last decision today: rejection from NYU. So, Yale it is! Best of luck to everyone still making decisions, and congrats on getting through this grueling process.
  2. Congrats to Goldie and everyone else who is wrapping up and making final decisions! Mine just got a little easier - funding rejection FINALLY came in the mail from Wisconsin (dated March 5). Still no word at all from UCSB and and NYU! It's driving me nuts!
  3. Sounds like they sent out letters to people who were awarded funding first, and the rest of us are just getting the bad news this week.
  4. I've received no official word from the department or the school, but I have heard about the funding decision from my POI. So I think the decisions have all been made, and they're just dragging their feet to notify people. I think that at this point, it would be fine to contact the graduate school.
  5. Yep, just got my Rutgers rejection as well. My POI at Wisconsin sent me a very nice email yesterday telling me that although I was nominated for a fellowship, I didn't get one. Sounds like availability of the fellowships are way down this year, and competition is pretty stiff.
  6. I'm not certain about NYU or Yale, but of 43 Chicago social sciences MA's who applied for a Chicago PhD last year, 18 were accepted. Within history, it was 7 out of (I believe) 12.
  7. Yeah, I think straight rejections are coming first, then MAPSS. If anyone wants any info on MAPSS, PM me, because I went through the program last year and couldn't have been happier.
  8. Oh, never mind, rejections were from last year, so it looks like they're still in the works.
  9. Congrats to the Rutgers waitlistees. My situation seems somewhat odd, as rejections, acceptances, and waitlist decisions seem to have already gone out, but I haven't heard anything and the website says "No Decision." Guess its time to call.
  10. I'd like to know that as well! I haven't heard a peep out of Rutgers.
  11. I just got the official Chicago rejection. Despite some really great acceptances, this one sort of hurts, since I went through MAPSS and really fell in love with the school. Oh well.
  12. I randomly checked the CUNY website to find that I had been admitted - no word on funding, however. If you've applied and haven't gotten a decision, I'd check now.
  13. Yep, and I think inflated numbers can come from the department, as well. I find it difficult to believe Columbia's claim that they have over 600 applicants annually, when comparable schools (Chicago, Yale, Harvard) never claim more than 400. Maybe it's the New York factor, but I'm doubtful.
  14. Is anyone else applying to CUNY? Judging from last year, it seems results will finally be out this week - both acceptances and rejections.
