This is true. Though the grad seminar I am in now (which, by the way, grad seminars? coolest kind of class EVER) has 8 students and it is nice to have a few more opinions from people who are well read in the field. But maybe the smaller cohorts means that you'll have a wide variety of specialties in each seminar so you'd get a more globalized and well rounded perspective?

It's a shame the field seems to be shrinking, but perhaps that will translate into a better job market and I am all about that I also think I will probably enjoy a small department atmosphere. Though I can see where fewer peers might present a less intellectually stimulating environment.

Oh it's not just a skill. He has a natural talent that has been honed from birth. On another note pertaining to that mystical AHA conference. I went to the one in Chicago in January. That place is crazy. Sooo many people bustling around the lobbies and hardly anyone in the actual panels. It was pretty obvious that people are only there to see old friends and critique other scholars in their panels if they are feeling particularly vindictive.

I thought getting in somewhere would allow me to focus on my studies again. Nope. Now I just obsess about which minor fields to pick, what my summer reading list is going to be, and where I'm going to live. Fail.

Best guess? You're probably on some sort of unofficial waitlist. That's what I'm thinking has happened to me on my last 3 schools.

I mean, last month he did say that Luck and Manning would never play under the same roof and now Peyton is gone without even trying to negotiate an incentive based contract. I'm just not sure there are many AFC teams in which Peyton can be an instant winner. I just wish LINSANITY would return. Or Tebowmania.
