Hey Laura, I was wondering if you'd heard anything about funding yet? Also, curious which way you're leaning. Such a hard decision!!

Hey Laura, I wanted to let you know that I heard from ICP today with an acceptance phone call. I hope you got got in as well. I know what you mean about RIT - I considered applying there, especially since they have such great funding but the idea of living in Rochester scared me a little bit. However, it's a great program and I think, if you decide to go there, that you'll have less distractions that in NYC and be able to focus on your work that much more. I agree about the ego thing. It's so funny because if a friend of mine was going through the same situation, I would be giving them advice that I can't seem to take myself. I think the process in itself is a huge learning experience, and truthfully, seems to mimic a lot of the emotions that we'll all go through in our career as artists. It's not the last "rejection" we'll face, that's for sure. I saw that a couple of people had gotten rejections which made me think that they would have contacted those that had been accepted so I called to ask if all notices had gone out, and the person that answered the phone offered to look up my application status. Otherwise, I don't think I would have heard anything.

Acceptance letters for UNM Photo have gone out. I've been put on the wait list. How does everyone feel about wait lists? If you get in after being put on the wait list, do you sort of feel like the program didn't want you and you were their last choice? Or am I just being sensitive?

I'm sorry about the bad news. It sounds like UNM is going through Painting decisions first. Not sure if that means anything for Photo since they are reviewed by different departments but hopefully they'll send out decisions soon! Good luck with the rest of your apps.

Thanks! The Photo details say the same, but I saw an old post from someone that received acceptance for Photo via email around mid-Feb. However, there's not too much info about UNM on this forum. It seems not a lot of people apply to the program.

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone applied to University of New Mexico? If so, has anyone heard anything yet? Also, any news from Carnegie Mellon yet? I know some rejection letters have started going out, but what about interviews or positive news?
