  1. You are absolutely right! I was able to find an apartment a block away from Carleton, for way cheaper, and I'm still able to get downtown in 10 mins (by bus) or 45 (walking). Definitely worth checking other areas out!
  2. Hi everyone! September is approaching soon! There is so much to do before school starts, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it! Anyway, I would second the motion of going out before school starts! Might help get rid of some of the pre-NPSIA anxiety! Also, I am having trouble finding housing too... I have been on kijiji every day religiously, and I can't seem to find an affordable place that doesn't look like a dump! Hopefully something will pan out this week! I'm looking to share with someone, as I wouldn't be able to pay rent/furnish a place by myself. It's tough out there though! I wish everyone good luck with the relocation, and look forward to meeting you in September!
  3. Hey boys and girls! I'm in NPSIA too! will be looking at moving sometime in August or beginning of September, depending on when I can find a place. What are you guys doing for housing? any tips? I'd be looking to share an apt with someone, preferably at the Glebe or Centretown, depending on how reliable the buses are! Any ideas? So much to do before moving! ahhh!! Good thread btw! Can't wait to meet you all!
  4. I heard from UOttawa on March 16, so I second Nadirv26's comment and suggest contacting the department directly, preferably the graduate coordinator. She/he should be able to give you more info on your app.
  5. Bumping this! Anyone going to Ottawa this Fall 2012? Any tips of where to find apartments/roommates besides the uOttawa board, kijijii and Craigslist? Is there a specific area where grad students live? What month is better for looking for a place? What areas are better to avoid? Thanks!
  6. Congrats to those who got into Manitoba! I did my undergrad there and can help out if you have any questions about profs in the Politics department. Just msg me here or through PM and I'll do my best to answer! Best of luck!
  7. Hi jjrousseau! My school didn't send anything extra that wasn't in the initial acceptance package. After I accepted the offer, they just told me to check on my account online for registration, fee payment, etc. and to give them a call if I had any problems or questions. Did your school say that they were mailing something extra after accepting the offer? Maybe check online to see what the next step is, or call them! Congratulations on your offer acceptance btw! Good luck!
