Congrats Inspired10!!!! When did you hear? I submitted and had all my materials in last week of October. Lance said my application has gone through review and is just awaiting approval from the department chair. I'm so tired of waiting!

I received my admissions packet in the mail today from USC. Was accepted!!! Still waiting to hear back from UCLA and Berkeley.

Lance returned my call right now after inquiring about my application status this morning and told me that the admissions committee has completed review of my application and that all that is needed is final approval from the department chair. He said I could hear back today or at the end of the month. Don't know if this is good news or not.!!! My application was complete in October. Does anyone have an guidance on what this might mean?! So nervous right now!!!!!!!!!

I totally hear you! I applied for the Dean's Leadership Scholarship, which is only 16,000. Nevertheless, it's still free money, so I hope I get it. I would be able to weigh how I'm gonna pay for USC if I actually knew if I got in! Still waiting to hear back from USC, UCLA, Berkeley and NYU! So tired of waiting, especially since all of my applications were submitted and completed in October and November (minus NYU). I will definitely choose UCLA or Berkeley if I get in!

Yeah, when tuition and fees are at $41,741 and living expenses estimated at $25,140, that $9,500 and $3,700 looks like nothing. Exactly the reason I turned them down. I received about the same in aid.

Thanks. From what I hear, the prestige of the school matters very little when it comes to employment after graduation, which is why it was easy for me to turn down Columbia, especially after what they offered me in terms of aid. I still want to go to a university and program that are well-ranked/recognized, which is why my top choices are Berkeley, UCLA, and USC. No, I didn't apply to any of the CSUs. I graduated from UC Riverside and really want to pursue my MSW at a UC. I feel that a public university like UCLA or Berkeley will offer me a fantastic program, with the benefits of their respective reputations and awesome locations.

I received that email today, too! I don't know if this is good news or what?! My application has been "in review" for about a week now. According to other posts, it took about a week after the status change for them to hear back! So nervous!

I just turned down Columbia, due to lack of a sufficient financial aid (grants/scholarships). I'm not going to just go to grad school for the sake of going, without weighing the amount of debt I would get myself into. UPenn offered me so much more, but I'd still rather be in California. Still waiting to hear back from Berkeley, USC, and UCLA.

My USC application status changed on Thursday to: "Your file has been forwarded to the academic department for review and an admission decision. You may check this system periodically for updates, and if the academic department requires additional information or renders an admission decision, you will be contacted." Do you think I'll be hearing back this week?! =)

Yeah, that's odd considering you select which concentration you're interested in your application. It's also odd, because they admit by concentration.

It took them about 2 and a half weeks after I was accepted to receive an offer of financial aid. I actually called them to inquire about it about 2 weeks after my acceptance just to check the status of my financial aid offer.

So incredibly annoying! Waiting to hear back not just from Berkeley, but from USC and UCLA, as well! In the meantime, decision deadlines for Columbia and Penn are coming up! Grrrr.

Sherbear, thanks for your reply. My application and all my materials were in in November. I applied for the Dean's Leadership Scholarship, so perhaps that's why I haven't heard back yet. Maybe they're making a decision about the scholarship recipients
