  1. I am I'm not sure if we need to start a facebook group, but I'd love to make contact before starting as well. Message me! I received my official confirmation last week, but that's because I really pushed them as I had deadlines coming up for other offers. They've been extra busy this year and even until 2 weeks ago the department still hadn't forwarded my file to the GPS. I think they're working to get the rest out now.
  2. I officially declined my SFU offer for the Environmental and Occupational Health stream last week. I've been accpeted at McGill and Queen's, which are both a better fit for me than SFU, so my final decision will be between the two. All the best for your studies at SFU!
  3. Thank you! I also applied for the Jan deadline. I received the unofficial email from the MPH Graduate Secretary on April 16 and then the official email from the Graduate Studies office on April 18. My website status has changed and I have the option to accept or decline the offer until April 30.
  4. Thank you! My preference is for McGill - I'm a Quebec resident and it's my alma mater. It's been 6 weeks since their unofficial offer though, while the offer from Queen's this week was a formal one. Thank you! I applied to the Environmental and Occupational Health stream. I'm not sure if my spot will automatically go to someone who applied to the same stream as me though.
  5. I was officially accepted to Queen's as well and just received an email notifying me that I can formally accept or decline the offer on their website until April 30. Pretty ecstatic right now - McGill and Queen's were my top two choices This means that I will be formally declining SFU's offer today and my spot should hopefully go to the next person the waiting list. Congrats to all the people who have been accepted into their programs of choice and best of luck to those still waiting!
  6. I also received an official letter from SFU yesterday, but it's still for the departmental recommendation only. They had notified us of this previously by an informal email. However, this letter also carries an offer of funding! Now I'm torn between SFU and McGill. Here's what the beginning says: "On behalf of the Faculty of Health Sciences, I am pleased to inform you that the Faculty of Health Sciences Admissions Committee has recommended to the SFU Senate Graduate Studies Committee that you be admitted into the Master of Public Health - Environmental and Occupational Health program, beginning in the Fall 2012 semester. If our recommendation is approved, the office of the Dean of Graduate Studies will contact you directly with a formal admission letter. To accept your offer of admission, please respond by e-mail to fhsgrads@sfu.ca no later than April 18, 2012. Upon your receipt of the Formal Admission letter, you will have two weeks to pay the admission deposit of $250 to secure your place in the program."
  7. I received a standard rejection letter from U of T Epi in the mail on April 9th. It was dated April 3rd. I also received an email from U of A notifying me that I was on their waiting list. I had to accept Waterloo's offer 3 weeks ago because I am still waiting for the official offers from McGill and SFU. Grrr, it seems both universities are notoriously slow about this process. McGill is still my first choice so I hope nothing goes wrong this late in the game. My undergrad GPA is low and McGill's Graduate office is rather strict about these things. I have heard nothing from both Guelph and Queens. Since other people have received admission offers from Guelph, I'm guessing that my application was unsuccessful there.
  8. Did anyone who applied to the Environmental and Occupational Health stream at U of A hear back from them or receive an interview request? I was wondering if they have only gone through the Global Health applications so far.
  9. Thank you! Good question - it was a little unclear to me at first. The official letter on Quest is dated March 9, but I only received the official email about it on March 15. In the letter it says that I have to accept within 2 weeks of the offer. I'm guessing the offer date is March 9 so that makes the deadline March 23. It's less time than I had expected and might make things a little difficult since I'm waiting for the official offer from McGill.
  10. Hey MPHeh, I received the official admission email from Waterloo yesterday (the unofficial phone call was almost 4 weeks ago). Now my online status has changed and I have the option to accept or decline their offer. This is the first round of admissions and more offers will go out based on how many people accept, so I wouldn't write off your chances completely. All the best!
  11. I also received an acceptance email from SFU yesterday for the Environmental and Occupational Health stream. So it looks like they do separate them, at least when sending out the emails.
  12. First time posting on this forum. I've applied to a slew of MPH programs for Fall 2012 and am finally starting to hear back. I received unofficial acceptance from Waterloo two weeks ago through a phone call. They said that the official letter can take weeks to arrive. This evening, I also received an acceptance email from McGill. The deadline to accept or reject McGill's offer is March 30. Since it was my first choice, I will be accepting
