  1. Hey Clover123, was your funding decision in the acceptance packet? Mine didn't mention anything about funding...
  2. Thank you. My application status page says something along the lines of "We made our decision, your letter will arrive in the mail soon. Please do not contact us because we will not tell you through the phone or email." The letter didn't have any information about aid. I read prior posts and they said the aid will come in a separate letter. Not sure though? I'm going to visit both campuses next month to help me make my decision. Right now I'm leaning toward SIPA...
  3. Got a letter (snail mail) this morning from USC. Accepted! I applied to the MPA program. Submitted my application Dec 15. GPA 3.82, Army Iraq-war veteran, worked in China, a lot of volunteer work, GRE- average at best. So now the question is- Columbia SIPA or USC? (funding is not an issue, the GI bill is amazing) Still waiting on NYU.
  4. I got accepted yesterday as well. I am so sorry to those who are still waiting. The SIPA admitted students day is April 10, so you will know for sure before then. (Those were suppose to be words of encouragement but I know it doesn't help, at all. Sorry...)
  5. Hey. I completely understand you situation. I was active duty military as well. I came back from Iraq in June 2007 and started my undergrad immediately 2 months later. Looking back, I wish I had given myself some time in between to unwind. While you may not be coming home from deployment, taking some time after active duty will really help your mental stability through the next few years of school. You shouldn't have to worry about going back home to live with your parents because you are eligible for unemployment (which is A LOT of money) so I'm sure you can rent a place. Personally I do not like regrets, so if I were thinking about applying like you, I would just do it to see if I get in. (if anything, it is great practice for the fall!) And if you don't get it, don't sweat. Just do it again in the fall! I received my acceptance into the MPA program at SIPA yesterday so i am extremely happy. Still waiting in Wagner and USC. I know both SIPA and USC have extremely good veteran networks, while this shouldn't be a deciding factor, it's a fun fact Good luck to you and I hope everything works out the way you want it to!
  6. I haven't heard from Wagner (applied for MPA). But I got accepted into the MPA program at SIPA this morning. Still waiting on USC as well...
  7. Is anyone else extremely confused as to why the MPA program at SIPA got ranked #29 in US News? Is this affecting anyones decisions? I understand US News ranking isn't everything (I personally think their methodology is ridiculous), but #29?! Really?! FYI- I got an email this morning, got into SIPA with 0 funding. I'm not too worried about funding though. Stats- 3.82 GPA honors, US Army Iraq war veteran, non-profit experience and a ton of volunteer work. GRE- terrible, average at best. Still waiting on USC and NYU.
