  1. I'm trying to make it too. Looking forward to seeing the studios
  2. Pretty sure I'm going to MICA for sculpture. Anyone else to MICA? It seems like they want me there, and I really am not willing to wait another year. Maren Hassinger is incredible! Still no word from SAIC. Anyone have guesses?
  3. I just logged on to my application and found out that I was rejected from Tyler. I know that it did not say that on Saturday. I applied for sculpture, so it may not mean anything for you. Also, I have not heard a thing from UCLA, and their online decisions thing still says that no decision has been made... Anyone know about UCLA? All I've heard from Tyler is "Applicant denied." That's cold-blooded Tyler. Ha!
  4. not true. could be true, but not from my experience. I got my undergrad from a state school (a huge amount of students were commuters too), and almost 20% of our students were international
  5. I have been told by countless people to not pay for grad school because someone will give me a full ride with a stipend. I went to a state school for undergrad and got a lot of grants and scholarships but towards the end it was really really tough because education funding has been cut so much in the past ten years. While I know that a lot of schools will offer full rides, I also know that it's getting a lot harder. There are also so many of us that schools with a good record know they don't have to, even though they should. As an example, when I got the call from MICA the second thing the dean said was that they were offering me their best package, and that only a few other people were getting it throughout the school. My stomach dropped as I assumed tuition waiver + 20 k, but it turns out the absolute best they can do is half off of tuition. I honestly believe that if you've made it to this point it should be easier to get help, but it's really tough all over.
  6. rejection from vcu sculpture through mail on saturday. still no word from tyler or ucla about interviews. is it safe to assume that i will be getting rejections? accepted: mica, massarts (fellowship at mica only covers 50%) rejected: vcu (and i'm pretty sure saic) no word from: ucla, tyler, saic
  7. rejection from vcu sculpture through mail on saturday. still no word from tyler or ucla about interviews. is it safe to assume that i will be getting rejections? accepted: mica, massarts (fellowship at mica only covers 50%) rejected: vcu (and i'm pretty sure saic) no word from: ucla, tyler, saic
