  1. Would like to know from somebody on the PDF waiting list - was your position in the letter? I've emailed NSERC to ask where mine is, but I'm guessing if it wasn't in there I'm not high on the list?
  2. Failed PDF application notice today in teh mail.
  3. Graduate office does not get PDF results.
  4. Which letters? Sounds like PDFs have already been sent, maybe PGS haven't.
  5. For anyone waiting for PDF results, NSERC just sent me this:
  6. My grad studies office just responded to an email request I sent with this:
  7. All the more reason to have a more useful solution for everyone involved - instead of being ambiguous, or even misleading, about when results are being posted, why not communicate the reality of the situation up front in clear language? Why set everyone up with incorrect expectations from the start? In other words, people are calling because NSERC has advertised that results are bring delivered on a timeline that they know they will not likely meet. How many phone calls and emails could they save by being honest up front? There's little reason to be sympathetic to the organization who's dug themselves into the hole.
  8. NSERC should have posted online that decisions were coming late this year. While they might not be obligated to send out results on any deadline, it's common courtesy. They know that these awards are "life changers" for those involved, and that many people have important decisions to make. It would take NSERC a minimal amount of time to post a change to the notification to their website, there's really no excuse for this kind of behaviour -- and in fact, it's this kind of inefficiency that makes me think budgetary cuts to these departments are fully justified.
  9. Nothing in Waterloo today - mail has come and gone. Should be tomorrow, according to Canada Post's delivery standards.
  10. I emailed NSERC to ask about the delay: and got this response this morning:
  11. JFGI http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/NSERC-CRSNG/Eligibility-Admissibilite/org-org_eng.asp http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/NSERC-CRSNG/eligibility-admissibilite/EligibleOrganizations-OrganismesAdmissibles_eng.asp Expected result should be IRDF, so safe bet is to plan for that. If you end up with a PDF then you have a lot more freedom.
  12. Pretty sure they're still "on time" for another 10 days or so. Chill.
  13. I'm in Waterloo - close enough to Ottawa that there shouldn't be a big delay in delivery time. I wouldn't stress about it for another week =)
  14. I didn't receive my CGS-D3 letter until April 2nd in 2009, I wouldn't count on seeing the letter until the first few days of April. Don't want anyone stressing out for the next two weeks!
