  1. You bet! After all this is over (and with the best results for all of us, I hope), I am going to need some paradisiac vacations. It's not only cognitive reboot! In my case, I will have to put on all the weight I have lost in the last month. I am skinny, so if I keep on loosing weight this way I will become invisible (for real! Not in this virtual way forums and grad school make us feel)!
  2. LOL! Totally agree! Hang in there. I am still waiting to hear from UConn...
  3. Thanks for your advice, Mkeegin. Best of luck to you.
  4. I am also loosing my mind waiting. Why do they do this?! It's almost inhuman! Is anyone still waiting to hear from UConn?
  5. I am getting really anxious... almost uncontrollably. UConn, please, end with my agony!

  6. Congratulations Michelle! I wish you the best of luck for your degree. Thank you for you positive vibe!
  7. Yes... A month seems too long for me, really. I am not getting a very good feeling about this... Anyway, I am assuming April 15th is the last day for the applicants reply to their admissions' offers. Is that right? (If you, understandably, are wondering about this question, I am international student. There are a lots of details that I didn't mastered yet so sorry if some of my questions seem dull ). My husband had suggested that I contacted them to ask how was my application but I keep wondering if that is appropriated. Could that be considered rude and play against me?
  8. Thanks Mkeegin! As selfish as this might sound, at least I am not alone on this stressful waiting. I know that the University had some troubles just to put all applications together because they started with the application online option this year and apparently the system crashed. And that may justify some delays. But since it has been almost a month since I went to the interview... I did you find out about your status?
  9. I think you are focusing on the bad things. In my opinion, you should be focusing on the fact that, firstly, you were accepted (I am still waiting for an answer after being rejected in the past 2 years); then, you were accepted at the place you have always dreamed about! Isn't that amazing?! You are going to make a dream come true, either if it is your terminal degree or not. I face life like a constant school so for me it will never exist such thing as a terminal degree. You could try to forget that that is your terminal degree. You never know. Plus, if you happen to not being happy about your degree or your dream school, change can happen in a blink of an eye. You just need to want it too. Think positive, always focus on the good side of things and everything will be just great!
  10. Sometimes, what happen is that the institutions only give Master degrees to the Ph.D students. In other words, one cannot apply to a master degree program. It has to apply to a Ph.D program and, once accepted, has given the opportunity of getting the master degree by passing an exam at the end of the second year. Couldn't that be your case? If so, the founding you will receive refers already to the Ph.D, I suppose. You can also try to get that question clarified as well as the institution's policies on transfers. Good luck
  11. Hello everyone, Like most of you (I am sure), I am still waiting to hear from graduate school(s) application(s) decision(s). I applied for MA in Historical Musicology at UConn. I was invited for an on-campus interview on March 1st but I did not hear from them again. Does any one know how long UConn takes to report their decisions? Thank you all in advance and good luck to everyone who is still in the painful waiting row.
  12. Hello everyone! Congratulations to those of you who were accepted! I applied for MA in Historical Musicology at UConn. Does anyone know if it is usual to take this long to hear from them? I know that they had a set back with the admission process this year because they changed to online application and the system crashed. I was invited for an on-campus interview on March, 1st and I am getting a bit anxious. I applied last year for Ph.D to Yale, Columbia and NUY and was rejected. I hope this wait does not mean rejection again... Good luck to everyone.
