Last year, not everybody in MTL receive the letter !!!!! Some people receive it on March 21th, others on March 22th ....so dont stresss ! I will be back home arount 18h00 . I will check my mail and inform you !

Grad studies dont want to inform anybody. But you have to go and insist and told them that it is a question of life or death

Just to show that publications is only on criteria over 10000 ! I had only one submitter journal paper (1st author ) and 2 conferece paper !!!!!! So those who dont have many publications (like me), don't panic !!!!!

You apply for Master or PhD ?

yes around 50% in each commitee ! hundred of peoples apply to a univerity then only a certain number are forwarded to NSERC and from those, 50% get it. It is very difficult to get NSERC this days..... So even if you won only the PGS-M or PGS-D, it is a big honor !

You know Clarrien. My university told me that i am candidate for Vanier 3 days before the deadline. It's very difficult to prepare a good application in 3 days. Anyways, hard luck for me. I had like to go to Ontarion and receive a Vanier award from PM. Congratulations for all Vanier winners Cheers.

The quota for each university is given for 2 years. If in this 2 years, the university had good resultsregarding the application to NSERC, the quota increase for the next 2 year. If the results were bad, the quota decrease.

This year, Polytechnique submit 35 applications : 13 for PhD and 22 for Master.

GUys, the fact that our application was chosen by our universities to be applied for NSERC, or Vanier, or whatever means that we are strong people. So be confident in yourself even if you dont get an award this year. It is not the end. It is just the beginning ....

So you get Vanier or PGS-D ???
