I didn't take the GRE at all...and was accepted to Syracuse, USC, and Northwestern for Fall 2018.  I have 7+ years of professional experience, 3.97 undergrad & 3.83 graduate GPA, excellent LORs.

I imagine GRE scores are not a huge factor if you are really strong in other areas/characteristics.

Hmm how did you go about it? Did you ask for a waiver or the programs you were applying to did not require GRE?

  2. In my opinion I wouldn’t jeopardize taking the test again. International Relations focus does not need such a high Quants score. 159 is not bad either. Focus on preparing a stellar application to accompany those great scores. If it was Economics focus then yeah the quant score will be slightly low.

Overall, you are good to go with those scores. Focus on your applications.

It will I’ll be good to know what strategy you used to have a good verbal score?

    all the best!

  3. Wow!!! I did not receive the email as well so that ultimately mean that I was not selected yuk! Congrats to all who made it to the final selection. Do not be surprised about the outcome, its World Bank (decisions are made by humans and they are bound to make mistakes at times)  so whatever outcome you receive  should not deter you from trying better options elsewhere. Never give up!

At some point in the past few week the JJ/WBGSP website was updated and the notification date of "mid-June" was changed to "mid-July".  Back in February when applications were due it said "June 15".

Mid-July is awfully late for those hoping to start programs in August!

World Bank can be a pain at times especially when it comes to communication

Tinaye you are also from Zimbabwe. Best of luck to you too. I was just going through their annual scholarship publication http://pubdocs.worldbank.org/en/887451490013013188/2016-Annual-Report-Scholarships-Program.pdf. Its a very competitive Process. Out of 5000+ applicants, they give the scholarship to less than 200 students.

Yes I am Zimbabwean. Best of luck to both of us. Yes the selection process is quite tough and I would frankly say its the  survival of the fittest that makes it to the final selection. As far as I know, the final selection list or email has not yet been issued. The only email circulation that was sent was the request to submit offer letters, mostly to those who did not attach offer letters during the application period.

I also received the email with the 3 May deadline. My programme starts in August. I dont know if I will have enough time to plan for my travel and visa. its now 8 June and my patience is being tested. Who also applied for Heller School of Social Policy MISD programme here? Are we supposed to ever pay for the enrollment deposit if we get the worldbank scholarship?

Do not worry, Heller understands the procedure as to how the WBG Scholarship operates and once you are selected, Heller will work tirelessly to ensure your visa process is expedited. The responses should be out by the 16th of June if all goes well. So meanwhile, relax and enjoy the last days before grad school commences. Best of luck.

Those who did not submit their offer letters during the application process were given a chance to do so... It does not mean that when you did not get that message you are out of the race... Just be a little bit patient, the  finalist list will be out next week before Friday I presume. Best of luck to you all.

FYA: Check on current announcements from World Bank Group.

    • JJ/WBGSP:
    • The Call for Scholarship Applications for JJWBGSP preferred master degree programs is closed. Applicants receiving scholarships will be informed in mid-June.

MH2, i have heard some getting email in May requesting to submit letter of acceptance. the deadline was 3rd may. if no one got the email that time, he/she is no more considered for final selection i think.

  10. Hello everyone. My name is Rudolph and I'm from Zimbabwe. I applied for MPA programme Fall 2015 and I had my interview today. I don't think I would've find it easy before going through all your previous comments. Thank you.

I'm now patiently waiting for the diagnostic test. If anyone wants to practice for the tests, kindly let me know.

    Best wishes,
