I've been lurking a lot too and it's been helpful to hear about other's situations so I thought I should contribute. Letters have made their way to BC, I got mine today and thankfully it was successful. I applied through my university. My stats: Halfway through my MA program, my undergrad GPA was 7.9/9 (or 89% in other words, though it was higher in my final years), I've received 4 or 5 small scholarships/awards over the years, had 3 research positions in Canada and abroad, no presentations/conferences or papers. I am sure my letters of support were quite good as I work closely with each of the professors who wrote them for me.
Congratulations to those who have been successful and good luck to those who are still waiting!
