I talked to someone at the admissions. She told me they had the list of admits (which I wasn't on) and that they would probably send out rejects soon....

Broke down and called UC Irvine. Supposedly they haven't finalized their decisions- but expect to notify early next week. Since they interviewed already I won't be waiting on the edge of my seat...I'm going to cross them off my list. Also called RISD, since they didn't interview either- I just wanted closure...the lady was like - we have the names of the admits and you aren't one of them- so... She was probably surprised by how happy I sounded to get an answer. I'm just glad the waiting is over! I might celebrate Now, to accept or try again... I learned a lot these last few months.

Re USC - I emailed one of the faculty I had been in touch with. There had been a weird glitch with their system so when I didn't hear back I was worried it was because of that. He was super nice about it - but alas, no acceptance. Also, later that day I spoke with a friend who interviewed with USC and though he hadn't heard back, someone he knew had already been accepted into the program. Perhaps they wait to know who will accept before doing final notifications? I imagine that is what is going on with Irvine and RISD - but I am ready to start making a decision, so finality would be nice.

I am so ready for Irvine and RISD to just put me out of my misery. At this point no notification feels cruel....

Ten-of-swords I feel for you! I have been disappointed to not really hear anything- my girlfriend said something that helps me keep perspective. Grad school is not the only way- it's just one way. Your work is really interesting! You'll show 'em!!

A painter friend, who I assume applied as a painter, heard from UCLA this week. I crossed them off my mental list of hope-I-hears and shed a few tears. I'm not positive - but with such a small program I imagine that if he heard...

ok, with Rutgers, UCLA and UCI all interviewing/admitting this is officially my least favorite day of waiting! c'mon!!!

Oh darn! I mean congrats- but I imagine that means I should cross them off my list. So much joy and heartbreak!

Any painters hear from CalArts? I'm wondering if I should assume rejection....? (I like to prepare myself for these things!)

So Cornell contacted me to interview....I'm trying to figure out what the odds are? Does anyone have an idea of how many people they interview for how many spots? (I'm applying as a painter) Nice to get some news...it was feeling awfully quiet!

Can I ammend the rules? Let's drink until mid-march, the silence is deafening!!!!
