  1. *If you want a quicker reply, be more proactive and call (probably less feasible if you're overseas) Example: UPenn told me that they will post all Masters decisions by end of next week.
  2. Send them an e-mail right away. What do you have to lose?
  3. I still haven't gotten results yet. But at this point I've almost given up all hope on Michigan. As an undergrad, it's almost awkward to step into the computer science building here...
  4. It's somewhere on the forum. I made a chance post. I go to UMich as an undergrad ... have a 3.65 overall gpa and a 3.4 major gpa.
  5. I have no idea. I haven't been admitted yet. Most of my profs have said that I have a very good chance (one said "95% chance" ... another said that he "would be surprised to see Michigan reject me" ... One told me that my situation was dicey, so... I honestly don't see Penn admitting me, and I'm pretty sure I won't go to Brown if they admit me because they're kinda expensive.
  6. Brown hasn't replied yet. Cornell gave me a templated/cut-and-paste reply saying that they would be done by the end of the week. Helpful ... considering the end of the week is tomorrow...
  7. Tell me about it. I still have yet to hear back from 4 other schools...
  8. Update on Michigan: They are still reviewing MS CS applications but they are slowly releasing decisions in the next 2 weeks.
  9. If it's any comfort, I'm also waiting to hear back from multiple schools: Michigan, Penn, Cornell, and Brown. It's tough. I did see that on the survey that someone indicated that 1,300+ people applied to Michigan's CSE grad program. I feel like I have no chance at Cornell anymore, though...
  10. Well ... there are other issues, like housing. Sometimes it's difficult to find good housing so late in the year. However, there are too many people applying to grad school. It might have something to do with the economy.
  11. Update: Spoke to the UMich grad office. They expect to finish review of MS applications by next Friday. They said that e-mails should go out the week after that.
  12. Well, I have an admit to a safety school (USC's MSCS program) so I have that to go to if all the other schools, including Michigan, where I go right now for undergrad, reject me. If I choose not to go to USC (it's expensive), I'll probably do my summer internship that I committed to last November, take a couple months off, then look for a FT position.
  13. @tkmkt: I have not heard of a waitlist for PhDs. All I know is they have given out most acceptances for PhDs. I don't think they've released Masters decisions yet; professors have been busy with PhDs up until now ... I do think they will release MS decisions very soon.
  14. OK. Don't be dramatic now. It's only grad admissions. If it doesn't work out, there's always McDonald's.
  15. I wouldn't know anything about that. I only applied for a Master's.
  16. @tkmkt: This weekend was a PhD visit weekend. I go to Michigan as a CS undergrad and the professors and current grad students were walking around with a fairly large group of people and the school was serving some pretty good food for them on Friday. I know someone in my class who got into the PhD program at Michigan, so I did ask him to confirm.
  17. Michigan had a PhD visit day today. I'm going to guess that if you haven't been admitted yet to the PhD program, then your chances are not very high.
  18. My decision just got posted. Got an e-mail telling me to check on-line. Ouch ... I'm having a tough season.
  19. Yeah I don't see my decision on the website. I also haven't gotten a letter via e-mail or postal mail from the department yet. Perhaps they're releasing decisions in waves? I thought that a poster on this forum said that they should be releasing decisions this week (meaning the week that just passed by). OTOH when I called the office, they told me that they had finished reviewing applications. At this point, I'm assuming that they rejected me.
  20. I just saw a rejection for the Masters program posted on the Result Survey just now... So is Maryland releasing decisions today!?!? I can't find any changes in the application status on the ASF.
  21. I go to UMich (as an undergrad). Their Masters deadline is on the 1st of March, so there's still some time left before they release MS decisions. The only people who have MS acceptances from UMich are people who were admitted last semester through their SGUS (accelerated 5 year BS+MS) program. I know people who have this, but unfortunately, I'm not one of them. I am starting to worry too, because I haven't heard back from any schools yet, and I know Purdue basically only gave Masters admits to PhD applicants who didn't get funding, based on what I saw in the result survey.
