Regswilson Posted February 27, 2018 Share Posted February 27, 2018 Hey everyone! Has anyone heard ANYTHING from UNR for the Biology master's program? I check this website daily, and the only acceptances as of now are still PhD. The PI I spoke to mentioned that in the past, their graduate students would visit the campus during their Spring Break. Mine is in 2 weeks, and I haven't heard a single thing regarding this program. UNR is the only school I applied to, but I'm not sure that matters in this forum! Realistically, this week would be the first week I would expect to hear from them. I honestly don't expect to hear anything until mid-March. While its probably too late to do anything about it now, applying to only one school is definitely a risky strategy and hope that you get in. She said their admissions process takes longer than most other schools and that she only recently saw my application. I wasn't even accepted; I just got an informal Skype interview with her. I wasn't planning on going to grad school just yet (I originally planned on doing assistant field jobs for a year before pursuing higher education, and have a few with AmeriCorps lined up already as backups) but I fell in love with this one professor and their research and decided to go for it. Hence why I don't really mind the whole one-school thing. I submitted my application in December, so the application purgatory period is just starting to get to me!!! I just am getting nervous bc the PI I like/Skyped with said that in the past, their grad students would visit during their Spring Break.
