Hi, I have applied for the psychology program at McMaster (not clinical) and was concerned that my status on their portal was still showing up as incomplete so I emailed the graduate coordinator and this is the response that I received:

Your application is complete.  Your status will not change in mosaic.  All of our offers have gone out for the fall of 2018.

Can someone please explain what this means? I didn't receive any acceptance letter nor a rejection letter so I don't know where my application stands at this point. If anyone has also applied to McMaster in psychology  can you please let me know if you received an acceptance or rejection and whether they got it through email or letter in the mail.

Thanks

Sounds like you weren't accepted, since they say that all of their offers have gone out, and you haven't received one yet. It's possible that rejections will be sent much later, after the entire process is completed.

I was hoping that wasn't the case!

I don't know what that means, but I do know that whoever wrote the email sure sounds kind of rude. People can be so blunt, which is super nerve-wracking during a time like this!

They could’ve been more clear and I would specifically ask for clarity (you literally have nothing to lose...except the $80 application fee...and fees for transcripts...GRE—nevermind). It does seem like you’ve been rejected and the writer definitely could’ve spared some sympathy. Although it sucks to read, consider yourself lucky. They seem unprofessional and rude if that was considered an acceptable way to notify someone of rejection and you would’ve had to deal with that crap 24/7 if you got in (Trust me, I went into a program where I didn’t trust my gut feeling about staff and ending up suffering through two long and expensive years of hell). Keep your head up!

I agree with both of you I think the person could have worded it better, it just made me feel so uncertain and heartbroken at the same time!
