Summer internship

I just found out I have been offered a summer internship position at a private practice. The dress code is business casual. I’m from the south where the summers are hot and humid. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I should wear. Also, do you consider jeans to be business casual (assuming they’re dark wash with no holes)?

I would err on the side of caution your first couple weeks in the position.  It's better to start out by overdressing and then seeing how everyone else interprets "business casual."  If you see your colleagues wearing nice jeans, then I would say go for it. 

For your first few days I'd recommend nice dress pants and blouse.

The therapists at the practice wear scrubs so I’ll have to see what their office manager is wearing.
