Hey all,

I have been accepted to NCCU and App State for my Masters in Speech Language Pathology. I have been at App for the past four years for my undergrad and am having a hard time making this choice. I have a huge desire to go somewhere other than app, just for the change of scenery. However, I know very little about NCCU's program. I have looked all over the internet for someone to give me honest feedback about either of these schools, but am coming up dry. I have a medical focus and want to work in the hospitals one day. I worry that NCCU's program may not be as rigorous as other's, but are surrounded by more triangle area hospitals. Someone please help me. All feedback is welcome, and I would love to know if you are in either of these programs how you like it. Please help me make the right choice!!

I’ve heard that the professors are very tough at central, so I wouldn’t worry about the program not being as rigorous. It’s still a newer program compared to others but the fact that you would have access to hospitals like duke is a major plus(at least to me if I were in your shoes) and it’s only 2 years, if you end up not loving the area you’re not tied down to staying there post graduation

Durham isn’t that bad! You don’t even have to live in Durham, live in a town nearby and have a short commute if you don’t want to live there

HAHA! Yeah, I've applied to NCCU but definitely would commute. I'm currently taking a few prerequisites now from there but still haven't heard back for grad school. >.< Since you're looking into the medical aspects I would definitely pursue that opportunity at NCCU.
