Remz Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 (edited) I'm thinking about applying to MFA programs next year, and I'm trying to compile a list of interdisciplinary art programs that allow you to take academic courses. Would anyone be willing to help? Thanks you! Edited March 10, 2018 by Remz
martinl5 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Oregon College of Art and Craft has an incredible interdisciplinary program because it is a super small MFA in Craft graduate program. Twenty students, but you get to design your graduate experience, from who is on your committee to what you are reading. You get permission to use all studios. Most students change their discipline throughout the course of two and a half years, the summer semester being the most time for change because you are allowed to experiment. I went from painting to sculpture to ceramics to photo, back to painting. Its been great. ocac.edu MjamesPDX 1
p287 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 It depends a bit on which arts you're interested in. I am in my final year of grad studies at The New School. My program is highly interdisciplinary, but it does depend a bit on which department you're in. I recommend you check out the programs at www.newschool.edu. Course offerings are at http://courses.newschool.edu.
