Jbslp95 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Hey guys! So Emerson is the only school I got into so I’ll definitely be attending (and I’m thrilled, it was my top choice) but I’m having trouble finding the exact tuition online. Does anyone know how much the program will cost in total? Thanks! And let me know if you’re going to Emerson too!! ?
Josh13 Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 http://www.emerson.edu/billing/costs-billing-schedules/graduate#1819chart You can click the 2018-2019 link at the top and it’ll take you down to the per credit hour cost and fees and all! I’m considering Emerson. I’m trying to decide between that and Northeastern. :/
MP18 Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Hi @Josh13 and @Jbslp95 ! I'm deciding between Emerson and a couple other schools right now! Leaning towards Emerson. Only thing I'm sliiiiightly hesitant about is that I think I might really want to focus on rehab/medical settings, and I'm not sure what Emerson's placements are like for that. Do you think their program is more focused on kids/educational settings? They say they are a generalist program, so I'm not super concerned. What are your specific interests in the SLP field? I can't attend the accepted student day next week, which is a bummer. Let me know how it is if you go
JCCSLP Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I am a Clinical Instructor at Emerson. We are NOT only pediatric-focused. I'm not sure where this rumor comes from. Our students get experience across the lifespan academically, in our in-house clinic and community placements. We do consider ourselves to be a generalist program, meaning that you can come out of our program and be ready to work in any setting. Hoping to meet some of you at the accepted student event on Friday night! @jbSLP @MP18 @Josh13 Jena Jbslp95 1
Jbslp95 Posted March 23, 2018 Author Posted March 23, 2018 Hey @MP18 sorry I missed your response! My interests do lie more in pediatrics, but I did ask the current grad students at my interview about whether or not Emerson had any sort of specific kid focus and their answer was an emphatic no. I brought it up because I definitely saw that posted multiple times on gradcafe, but as Jena mentioned above they focus on the entire lifespan and all the current students said they felt they were getting a well-rounded education. I will definitely let you know how accepted student day goes! And I'm sure if you have more questions they'd love to hear from you, everyone I've interacted with thus far has been super friendly Good luck with your decision!! JCCSLP 1
