rapswell Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Did anyone else apply to the CyberCorps Fellowship (100% tuition waived at Georgetown/Hopkins/other schools + $30,000 living stipend + $4000 travel stipend + health insurance +$1000 book stipend annually)? Do you know anyone who did the program and started working?
L'Enfant Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I did for Georgetown. I am currently working in cyber with some other Cyberfellows from other schools and they really like it. Seems to be an amazing program.
rapswell Posted March 13, 2018 Author Posted March 13, 2018 Nice! I work in cyber and applied too but want to do policy post-grad rather than enterprise security for some agency - do you know if this is a possibility given the job requirements?
L'Enfant Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I believe OPM has to “give approval” when you send them your job offer. Cyber security is so vague that you can be doing anything from SOC threat analysis to policy. I would guess as long as you don’t have to bend the job duties to make your point, you should be good. What do you do in cyber? PM if you want to discuss more...
cyberSecGrad Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 I've applied for the SFS at Carnegie Mellon. Seems like a great program. I haven't heard anything about interviews yet, hoping to hear this week, since I think they were on spring break last week.
L'Enfant Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Anyone heard about interviews for CyberCoprs at Gtown SSP?
cyberSecGrad Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 From what I've heard, the OPM has been slow to respond to colleges this year about the SFS. It looks like a lot of information about it will be late, way after deadlines to respond to offers of acceptance.
bness2002 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 (edited) Did any of you get into the Cybercorps program for this fall? I am applying through the GW Elliott MIPP program and concentrate on cyber security area. I just started doing cyber / IT in the DOD world.
