How do you initially start negotiating for more money?

Hello,

I received a significant scholarship from one of the schools that I applied to but nothing from another. They both have the same tuition and the one I received a scholarship from has a more prestigious program so hopefully I have a chance at receiving something if I ask.

My question is how do people initially ask? Do I attach the offer letter from the other school in my initial email? Or do you just open up with an email asking if they’re open to negotiating?

There are sooo many threads here on this topic. Have you tried using the search function? At least in your initial email, I would not ask if they're open to negotiating. Instead, you want to state your case. I also wouldn't send the other offer unless they ask for it.
